I'd argue that one serving is enough for two people, that's how large the portions are!

Diet ends Friday, then I'm going for one of these (not sure what candied bacon is, but hey, you only live once)

The Baconator was a special for "National Burger Day" and I believe all 30 sold out in in just a couple of hours. The Boss Man says it will make a return soon.

EDIT: ignore all that, it looks like this IS the return - I should read more carefully

I've previously taken the OH to Market Vaults for a burger on a Friday night. A coupe of things to consider. I'm fairly sure they stop serving food at about 8.30pm (Please someone correct me if I'm wrong). You may also want to get they early (i.e. 7ish) in order to get a table. We went a couple of months ago and struggled to get a table, however we did go after 8 and therefore it was our own fault.

The burgers at Market Vaults are superb and the beer is equally excellent.

Serving times are Tuesday to Friday 12-3 & 6-9pm, Saturday 12-7pm

Unless your group enjoys listening to live music. I've been to a number of live band nights at MV and enjoyed them all. However, if you want a quiet drink there are quieter pubs.

No, i mean the recorded stuff.

I too have been to listen to the bands and had great nights - in fact i'm particularly looking forward to Hip Hatchet's return on the 30th - but in between sets the piped stuff is too loud. Maybe this has changed as i haven't been out for a while.

Anyway, that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Surely you only mean the live band from 9pm on a Saturday night? That's hardly all weekend.
In FACT, i have even once been in your very FACE - hairy as it was - asking you to turn it down.

You said you couldn't

And now you can't - even if you wanted to

I like this one because whilst still being a proper pub we can take the youngster in, we often have her with us so have to forego places like the rose and Crown.

my experience last friday wasnt like that at all, the music was very low.
Well that's good to hear, because, you see, it's all very well saying -
... if you want a quiet drink there are quieter pubs.
- but
... there's not many pubs left like this one...
- it is, indeed, far and away the best pub in the town centre. The Rose & Crown is the quieter pub for a quiet drink, as is the Sun, with which it vies for an undecided, and very close, 2nd/3rd spot in that competition.

So, yeah, Viva el Market Vaults! ¡Carajo!
