Anyone else get the impression that this is a massive waste of a lot of people's time?

Not the same ward, but the same bunch of planners trying to wipe out another Protected Open Space / Green Infrastructure at Brooklands School site on the other side of Doxey Marshes. Rugby club, western relief road and Eccleshall Rd have to be considered for cumulative effect on SSS1.

Lots of questions that could be put to the head of planning committee and MP

I got the letter yesterday, telling me I could attend, though, much like many people (I'd imagine), I won't be at the meeting due to that commitment they call - work!

Can someone throw a mouldy old crock of shit at the person (from the development lot), that speaks the most #Bullockshit, thankyou.

Doubt any of those who protested will be able to make the Monday meetings as they will be at work, school etc, conveniently for the planners I guess. Expect it's a done deal owing to too many vested interets havng power in town, but I'm hoping for the morally 'right' outcome

Judicial Review will sort them out for telling porkies. Trouble is, the taxpayer foots the bill for everything, including the council's defence.

So let's get it straight, the council head of leisure is also a director of the rugby club?

Here's what the Constitution says...

7. OUTSIDE COMMITMENTS
7.1
Officers above Scale 6 are expected to devote their whole-time service to the work of the Council and shall not engage in any other business or take up any other additional appointment without the express consent of the Chief Executive.

7.2
Employees should not undertake outside work if their official duties overlap in some way with their proposed work, if it causes a conflict of interest, or if it makes use of material to which the employee has access by virtue of his or her position (for example, an architect or a planner who draws up plans within his or her own authority for an applicant for planning consent). It is irrelevant whether or not the work is paid.
