I don't think I've ever seen anybody shaking their fist in real life - only on pre 1970s television. Seems a more polite way of showing objection though - I tend to use 2 or sometimes 1 finger, depending on my level of frustration.
That must make driving difficult, surely...I myself tend to prefer... the horn, which I tend to end up using a lot driving around Stafford...
