Tried Slices on the Wolverhampton Road for a change on Friday night.....2 hours for food is not classed as fast. Won't be using them again.

Last night we ordered from Haweli Balti via just eat. We chose a delivery time and settled into our pint at the kings arms. We get a call a short time later telling us they are outside. OK we say we will be ten minutes and hurry down our drinks. We get home and wait, and wait, 30 minutes later we decide to call and ask where our food is. Person on the phone was short and dismissive. 10 minutes later the food turns up, at the original time. Unfortunately the wrong nan, cold food, soggy pakora, and mains nowhere near their usual quality. I messaged them, didn't get a response. We had a good run but a different takeaway in the future.

Went to friends in Eccy last night for a few beers and a chinese. Their turn to get the food. So having not been able to get a reply from the Great Wall, for some reason instead of Stone or Stafford, Mr friend went to the Ambrosia at Loggerheads. Have to say it was very good though. Mrs T, Mrs friend and I made good inroads into the booze while he was gone too.

After our usual Chinese got such a terrible hygiene score, we tried one with both 5 out of 5 for hygiene and a really high customer rating on Just Eat last night. Szechuan House. It was lovely. Great food, on time, and crispy chilli beef that was actually both crispy and hot. Our new regular.

Enjoying a drop of red.
It's alright, we've since eschewed all Chinese takeaways in favour of Wok Stop. Hopefully that won't be next in line for the atj zero star curse.
That has a five star rating at the moment. It's also lovely.

I wasn't happy to discover that my favourite Chinese, Essence of the Orient ,also has a 1 star rating :|

Is Essence of the Orient still even open ? We went past it in the evening recently & the shutters were all down.....

Well, I love to eat dangerously. In fact the more dangerous the better.
"Oh Basil" ! I hear you cry, can it be that one man is prepared to risk life and limb whilst dining out in some of the low-end eateries in our midst.

Oh indeed , yes........

Tried Marston Spice recently. Not good, lacking meat in the dishes, lacking keema in the nans, overly sweet. get the feeling its the same poor owners reopened under a new name.
