Who's the receptionist?? Or is is someone not on here, but possibly in Bulgaria with her mum at the moment? And i've seen him take his top off, he did it in my kitchen, didn't know where to look!

I've always found Dr Sadhra at Oriel to be pretty good........... and relatively pain-free!

Hi all- Basically i've never been to a dentist in my life, yet.. and I think I really need to go

Can anyone recommend a dentist, (Not private, i'm not rich!)

Terrified thinking about going to be honest, and finding out what needs to be done.. and the costs :(

(Think this is in the right section)

How long would I have to wait nowadays for a appoitment ? I say nowadays because i've heard it taking ages in the past for some people.

Admin Edit: Threads merged.

I wasn't too impressed with Stafford Dental Centre. I went today because I had some toothache. I hadn't been to a dentist in 8 years and last time I went I was told I had some erosion because of eating citrus fruits, I know that has got worse since then and I was quite nervous about what was going to be said. Anyway, he had a play around in my mouth, jabbed some pointy things in my mouth and did the scale.

Next thing, I'm given some forms to sign and being hushed out the door.

Well, hang on I thought. I came here because of toothache, he asked me about it when I came in and now he hasn't said anything at all about it. In fact he didn't say anything, I thought he would at least tell me the general state of my teeth even if it's a simple "I can't see anything to worry about.". I raised the toothache and the erosion and all he had to say was he couldn't see anything so couldn't do much about it. That's fair enough if there's no problems, but the fact I was being hushed out the door without being told anything at all I didn't think was very good.

I think I might give Smile on Lichfield Road a try. It's expensive but I would hope they do a good job for that money.

I've decided its high time I visited the dentist. Can anyone update their recommendations?

The ONLY dentist I would even contemplate going to is David Gardner @ Pure on the Eccleshall Road

I've experienced some horrific dental treatment in the past (Oasis on Wolverhampton Road) and much pretty poor dentisty so am very very scared of attending. Had David recommended to me, and it's like a whole different experience, no stress, no pain, just a really positive experience all round!

I hadnt been to the dentist for decades due to fear, but decided I needed to go. Went to the Polish guy opposite the police station, trouble and pain free, saw that I was nervous so reassured me and not too expensive.

Any dentists taking on NHS patients in Stafford at the minute?

Ta
I believe Stafford Dental (across the road from the police station) are
Yes, them - was there a couple of weeks ago and they have a board thingy* outside proclaiming so.

Don't know of any others that are, though am thinking that i recently saw a similar sign at the one on the Wolverhampton Rd - it is equally likely that i imagined it.

* Edit: board thingy reads 'Now open to new NHS patients'

My dentists , who I'd recommend , had signs up saying they were taking on new NHS patients last month when I went ....

Simpson & Goodwin 01785 252536 ( Address is Friars Terrace, but actually get into it from Friars Walk )
I've been with them since they took over the practice about 30 years ago .I have Mr Goodwin , but used to have Mr Simpson who is also good. There is a new lady dentist there who I've never been to
