Maybe, but illuminating official matches won't be all the floodlights are used for. Evening training is an obvious one, and I guess they'll switch them on towards the end of afternoon games in December and January.

So we'll get worse light pollution all the time, not like they'll keep changing the bulbs!

Is there any way to tell if the money spent on maintaining the marshes has ever been used to maintain the boundaries to Lord Stafford's land? Just wondering if we might have been paying for some upkeep he should have done. I can feel an FOI request coming on.

It is interesting to note that in writing this no mention is made of Blackberry Lane and the fact that it was not flooded this week. Also probably worthy of note that the River Sow does not adjoin the site in any way either at the overflow car park or anywhere. Both facts which would be useful

Interesting it did not flood this time but the M6 did , top of Doxey has , The old Cricket pitch has and yet not the usual flooding to the rear where the rugby club is going ,I wonder why it the has not ? fact that 4 members of the committee are also on the internal drainage board ?
An email arrives on the council website mysteriously at 13:30 from the IDB to clr Sutherland and put on. Instantly , and mysteriously an attachment is on then is removed , other emails relating to this application have taken weeks to appear .
Have the IDB adjusted the sluice gates to divert water hence why Sainsburys long stay has been under water for such time ?

The flood pattern generally seemed different from usual, with ditches, fields and roads under water in places that often escape, but other places the opposite.Did someone mention watertables?

Universal don't use water anymore it's more like a warehouse , water is tanked at the rear of uni club then released slowly to cricket pitch but top of Doxey and Motorway flooded I believe , if you compare photos from July 2007 and the beginning of the week , I will seek and post later

And who decides if the minority are 'taking the piss' ?....

Me.

If the minority want to take something from the majority and make it only for the minority then they are, in my eyes, taking the piss. Unless of course the majority took it from the minority in the first place, in which case the majority already took the piss and to hell with them. My decision should still be final.

I think you might be in the minority there, tek......

The SWT statement about floodlights was interesting, seems you can't play official matches as they are too dim, but if they were any brighter it would have produced a very different light pollution report.

I'm sure they'll just replace them with brighter ones and to hell with the wildlife, they don't give a shit.
I am sure this point was covered in the planning meeting. Light spills reported were all outside the playing area
