work to be done on behalf of bovis homes...shock horror.

I am sure all of them are not unsafe. Disgraceful.

I fins it odd as there are not that many trees over hanging the brook alone footpath. Branches break off trees simple simple pollard or trim or close the path hardly anyone uses it anyway.

This has been on the cards for a while. The trees have been marked with blue for well over 12 months. There appears to be more trees marked than not marked in places. I think we can forget this being a nice away from it all walk through the trees.

My only surprise is why the developer is doing this, not the council. Is this patch owned by the developer now, not the council?

Surely ALL trees are dangerous in these mad Health & Safety days, acorns, horse chestnuts or sycamore seeds could fall, also resting or roosting birds could

on you beneath, so do we cut down ALL trees?

Have they got permission this time to cut these trees down? Or, will they just go ahead with the fell, like they did the first lot?
I wish they'd hurry up and finish with the building, it int half noisy on our ward at times.

Why bother with permission when the fine is a tiny part of the profit margin?

I do some mild developing. The sort of place I need
Is a quiet country market town that's rather run to seed
A luncheon and a drink or two, a little savoir faire -
I fix the Planning Officer, the Town Clerk and the Mayor.

And if some Preservationist attempts to interfere
A 'dangerous structure' notice from the Borough Engineer
Will settle any buildings that are standing in our way -
The modern style, sir, with respect, has really come to stay.

Getting rid of large trees near marshland, what can go wrong? #Floods!

From Vin Garbutt's song 'The Black Poplar'

When England was young and the air was clear,
You held the living water in your bowers,
On coast and river plain the earth absorbed the rain,
Releasing it when skies were void of showers,
But with pride and with disdain disregarding future pain,
In a manner most insane we build homes upon your plain,
Time and time again we invaded nature's drain,
Just to suffer when the waters rise again.

Will your silhouette grace English skies again.

Couldn't they at least start off with an Anti Social Behaviour Order, then move onto cutting them down, if found guilty of any wrong doings?

Acc to the Express & Star these trees are diseased but some will be replaced. I'm cynical so I doubt that will happen properly!

E&S also says "found to be in poor condition following a survey by Bovis Homes" - yeah, right....

Let's see how many fall down before the end of September.....

"A number of new trees will be planted..."? It would be easier to have given an actual number, zero is a number...

There is a smell of bovine bullshit here.
