Awful hit and run this evening.

This evening there has been a hit and run outside St.Austins church (wolverhampton road)
As the parents and children were leaving the carol service 2 people were hit by a speeding land/range rover with purple neons underneath.

This is all the info i feel i should give for now.
Spare a thought/prayer for those concerned.

Thank you

As stated in another thread, I'd already heard this from a few sources but wasn't going to repeat it.

one of our drivers says he's seen the vehicle around before, and its not a range rover or land rover. "one of the tacky japanese things" he said.

Anytime of year would be bad, but this close to Christmas is doubly so.

The style of vehicle should mean it'll be picked up on CCTV quickly. I actually want to get to work asap tomorrow, I know a few families that attend the school, feeling very anxious atm.

yeah we didn't know at the time..the people there were not looking which way the car went.
But i read the paper today and it seems he came back to the scene..what a night.

The end of term mass 2morro at the school will be focused on the mother and child.

My prayers go out to them.

I would have thought the end of term mass at this time of year was always focused on the mother and child!

As you can see from the date of the first post this is now one year on. As I know the Mum and Daughter involved in this accident thought I'd let you know how they are doing one year on....Things were critical for a very long time but fast forward twelve months and progress has been made, Katherine (the young girl) has recently started back to school only managing half days due to her months spent in intensive care and now speech therapy, she has amazed me as to how quickly she has improved, but she walks slowly and her speech and memory are very poor. Becky (Mum) still to this day wears a big ugly metal brace on her leg, walks with pain and it'll be another six months at least before the brace is removed. They are super determined to get back to normal, though knows things will never be the same again. They spent last Christmas in intensive care and with the anniversary dawning Becky feels like she's grieving a death...

The legal side of it is, the driver has never been charged due to a street light being out so therefore lighting was poor, he probably doesn't even know what his actions have caused, a child knocked so badly she will never be the same again and a Mother who will feel forever guilty.

Keep safe and drive even safer.
