Is the Weston road open now?

We are coming back to Stafford with caravan on the rear from Derbyshire.

Can anyone tell me if the Weston Road has opened back towards Stafford as it was a possibility in the Express and Star for today.

Saves a diversion.

Cheers..

No.

I've just been to the Showground and, despite the trench being filled in completely to the west , the lane back to Stafford town is still completely coned off for no other apparent reason than that the cones are still there.

So, all westward traffic is still using Within Lane.

Your caring Severn Trent has your best interests at heart....

East of the Showground, there may still be activity going on - as in, not actually "going on", but semi abandoned for a while.

Going up to Sandon is your best bet - or down to Wolseley Bridge...

London and Kent - the rest of the "United Kingdom" can just shut up and put up with it.

Obviously, these were just random choices and it could easily have been Lancashire and West Midlands.

Presumably where the plastic death-trap is now?

I'm amazed that nobody has hit that in a big way. It's not as visible as it might be....
One way lights there yesterday while they dig the middle of the road up by the new school. I wonder if they've put the old plastic barrier in the blue bin.
No barriers at entrance to A518 at Weston this morning & it looked open. They were removing the advisory signs at Aston roundabout informing the Weston road was closed. Im assuming its fully open now, I'll find out tomorrow

The road closed sign at great bridgeford was knocked down by the van in front of me yesterday, now that really is visible and there's no excuse. I put it back up and moved it left a bit with a cone to the right of it.

The original position of that sign was just perfect for blocking the view of somebody in a car emerging from the Woodseaves road and wondering if anybody was approaching from the left.

Like the ones they had at the Norton Bridge warehouse - placed there by van drivers that can see over the top.

I too declare that the road is now open.

For how long......:?:
Less than a week... it'll be closed again for a week from Sunday, this time because of the works by the new school.
Anybody know what they're actually doing there? The positioning of the kerb stones they've put in already looks like it might end up being just one lane. Could it be a chicane with more f*£$&%g traffic lights

surely all they need is a big barrier on the pavement by the school stopping kids from going onto the road.. its not rocket science!!!
