For years this town has been an example for the county with high street names you see all across the country.
Between 2006 and now name after name has disappeared from what once was a fashionable highstreet. This piss poor goverment in the last 3 years alone has swollowed the life out this county town.

Now . we have struggling charity shops and cafes..... banks travel agents One poor sports shop called sports direct and of course a newly huge surge of vancent buildings or premises caused by new shops being built.

This town in the time i lived here..... 30 years is now the biggest farkin' joke of the county!!!! In the last 5 year the town has been ruined cannock is much better presented.NEVER in 5 years hav i seen so many shops close along with a shrunk library no more university and a poor hospital.

The top of the town has been destroyed it would make a good car park it is such ashame to see in so little time a disaster like this which means personally i will abandon this town so b it solihull birmingham or dover i will go anywhere else ..... i have never seen such damage to a town centre in all my life
The grass isnt greener in solihull or birmingham, Dover maybe. (Ive never been) i was in solihull and birmingham for work last month. Its by far the biggest dump ive been in over the last few years. In fact driving through sparkbrook made me wonder how places can turn into rat infested shit holes in such a short space of time. Some parts of birmingham would look better if a few german bombers turned up seriously late and released a payload of bombs. When id get home it made me think how lucky i was to live in a nice house in a nice street in stafford!

Dover, has also gone to the dogs, ever since the influx of out East European brethren. It's more like down town Bucharest now, in fact it's like walking round Stafford Car Boot on a Sunday.

Stafford is a great place to live. Nice houses in nice streets. The town centre does not reflect the rest of the area.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Major ports always have been and always will be complete shit holes. Dover is no better or worse than Calais or Zeebbrugge.

Boulogne was a shit hole when it was an active ferry port but now its a lovely little seaside town with some great fish restaurants. Well worth a visit.

Ten years ago, I got lost in Dunkirk, trying to find a 'hotel' with the aid of an inadequate map. I asked a few people, but just couldn't understand all the complicated directions.

I saw a bloke walking a little dog and decided that he was my last inquiry, if that failed then I would sleep in the van. He really did have no English and my French still wasn't enough. "Wait here", he said, "I'll be back in a minute" - I thought he was just going to draw me a map or something, but he came back in his car and had me follow him through the backstreets for about five miles, right to the door of the place.
