Not fond of stupidity

Just offering a theory into it
I hear you.

But it is obviously not enough that i do.

Personally i think that everything is broken beyond repair. Because we have had more than one Generation that has lived in the comfort that that before fought to gain. We seem to have successively lost the art of compromise and any sense of commonality.

Which is a shame because i also think that we have a Generation coming through that is generally conciliatory, because they have grown up in an era of 'taught' conciliation. While the grown-ups have learned to love each other a little less, the young un's have lived a learning life in which they have learned to love each other just a little more.

These are the fruits that are currently being discarded, both sides of the pond.

If it's not love, then it's the bomb that will bring us together.

An interesting example of the blurring of the line between satire and reality that has become our new REALITY.

I found it slightly more 'scary' than i did 'depressing'.

Us lot over ere can rest assured that people over there can make an equally stupid mistake, like wot we did over ere, when it comes down to it.

Though we had a better choice and still got it wrong.
They have no real choice and will get it wrong, whatever they do.

Three cheers for democracy...
Hip Hip ...

...oh, forget it!

The professional political class has brought all this on themselves. They are too detached from the electorate. Too many politicians have followed the Uni- party intern/staffer - MP route into politics. This has happened more so over the past 20 years. You only have to think back to Midland MPs such as Peter Snape, George Stevenson, Dennis Turner who became MP's through the councillor/shop steward route and had lived the lives of the people they represent. This detachment has led to Brexit, Trump, UKIP and to a degree Corbyn.

You would have thought Clinton would have wiped the floor against the oaf Trump, (and due to the electoral system in the US, I think she still will) but it makes you wonder why she is struggling. She is too much the consummate politician and comes across as slippery as her husband Bill.

I remember the quote on the Guardian website about the choice in the EU referendum "It's like choosing whether to be shot or stabbed!" Sounds very apt the choice in front of the Americans.

An interesting, and possible, scenario is that Clinton could win via the Electoral College system, yet with Trump gaining more of the popular vote.

People saying they want something else and then voting for anything else may be a recipe for some entertainment to come.
