The year ahead

Just wondered what everyone is looking forward to this year?

I'll start, I'm looking forward to a holiday in the med, learning to ski (Christmas pressie), the second wee one's first steps, metal gear solid for the ps3, and a trip to New York in December to top off what should be a great year!

Christmas.
Ha ha ha. :)

Apart from finishing off the home (few things to be done still) and the arrival of my second child I haven't given it much thought tbh. A nice two week break in September is pretty much it at the moment.

Christ I feel slightly depressed now.

Erm, not a clue! 2007 was a bit of a mess TBH, went a bit off the rails. Don't get me wrong, had a lot of fun, but I'm looking forward to this year being a bit less chaotic. God I sound old!

Stafford starting to look less like a ghost town, and more like The County Town! (Some hope.)

Stafford Rangers miracle escape! ... no really, just a return to football I can enjoy whatever the result.

The powers that be at work, finally realising that you can't make a pig grow by weighing it, and chucking the league tables and dodgey stats in the bin! (forlorn hope). In the same vein, an end to managers spinning stories about modernisation, TELL THE PUBLIC THE FECKIN' TRUTH, they might just understand your reasoning! (equally forlorn hope)

People continuing to compliment us on the behaviour of our kids, and no more repeats of negative stories about the little beggars!

2+ weeks in the Dordogne, mmmmmm.

getting a six pack, and a rippling torso to match!

My newly planted spring bulbs coming through.

Frogs spawn in the pond I made at my mums house.

"Wild" flowers blooming in my meadow (patch of un-mown grass).

Tits ... nesting in my box!

well, happy new year to everyone for a start.

hopefully this year will be a continuation of the goodness previous. good health, enjoying the job, loving m girl, fun times - with friends and family, reading great books, watching great films, the list could go on (and in no particular order love). the glass is certainly half full xx

movie wise - the new batman film. good god im trying not to get too excited but its hard not to when a new incarnation of the joker is at hand. heath ledger has quite job. it had better be as dark as him sitting on a thrown supported by a pile of dead babies (read killing joke and youll know!)! am re-reading the graphic novels, year one, the dark knight returns, etc.

things to look forward to this year:

1) my cellar not being full of shit...and the stench going away too.

2) my bro building a bbq for me in the back yard and paving the front yard.

3) 5 night holiday in march, off to prague (first foreign jaunt since 2001- not including a weekend in dublin 2 years ago).

4) getting a proper lodger who isnt paying reduced rates coz of said stinky cellar.

5) sorting out all my half finished craft projects and getting them finished (like the patchwork quilt i started when i was 14!)

6) possibly getting a pay rise when the government stop fooking about with public service employees incremental pay awards.

7) going to an old school friends wedding (yup, ms fanning will be made an honest woman of on 23rd august 2008)

8) lil'lou coming home from her south american/kiwi jaunt- i miss her like mad! :(

9) getting my head straight enough to try out life in the 'dating game' in a desperate attempt to avoid becoming a spinster before....

10) getting a cat. it will be black, with short hair and go by the name of pumpkin....when the cellar is fixed and ive got enough money for vets/food/insurance etc.

i spose thats quite a lot to cram into the next 11 and half months....and im sure theres room for loads of other shennanigans in there too! :D

I'm looking forward to:

1. Winning a nice fat sum on the Euro Millions.
2. Having massive StaffordForum bash with the above.
3. Getting a new job - no choice due to departmental restructuring so will either get a new job with current employer or having to go elsewhere.
4. Nice summer walkies with the pooch.
5. Reading lots of good books.
6. Watching lots of good films.
7. Getting my braces off (gonna miss em - but not gonna miss the ortho bill!).
8. Becoming supreme Over Lord ruler of the Earth and everything within it :teef:

Well mine hasn't got off to the the best start, one friend in serious traffic accident minutes from midnight on New years eve, he's okay thankfully. A funeral on friday of another friend who committed suicide last week, tragic waste. Still waiting for good news on the mum and daughter hit in December in Stafford, who are still critically ill in hospital. And it's only the bloody 11th day of the year.

Positives, fab summer holiday to Florida (not booked yet), pay rise (still in talks), wkend at the British Grand prix , long wkend in Paris over easter, celebrating first year of wedded bliss in June.

I must get a Stafford tee one day. Probably the prison one, as the Castletown slogan and graphic are a bit shite.

Ah, good point. Who do I contact regarding these shirts? My mate in the army purchased some last time he was home, but never received them.
