Asking the real questions there @markpa12003

Given that it would be our money, i both do and don't hope that you did.

I agree with you. However, it was obvious to everyone but SBC that this application should have been approved, yet they refused the scheme on spurious reasons resulting in costs bring incurred by the hockey club.

Sbc need to get a bloody nose - an overturned appeal is merely a graze!

Wouldn't it be nice if the members of the planning committee were to help pay the clubs costs out of the expenses they get paid for serving on the committee.

I know, I'll get my coat...

Maybe SBC wanted the original application refused until they had got the 3G pitch on Evans Park approved and built to make sure they had their revenue stream in place before any possible competition was built?

We'd like to thank everyone who has supported the club since the application was submitted.

The news that the decision has been overturned is fantastic and gives the club the opportunity to move forward.

Its also an opportunity to build a few bridges with the powers that be and convince them that by supporting our club in its endeavours to provide sporting opportunities in the centre of Stafford, the whole town will benefit.

The club has land in abundance and the hockey pitch could be the first in whole line of sporting and social initiatives to get more people involved in a number of sports (both indoor and outdoor).

That said, the hard work for the club has just begin in terms of the financials as well as the looming closure of Beaconside
