Don't feed the troll
You realise that to impart emotion you can use emoticons, y'know, if somethings a joke you can put a wink ;) or a smiley face :), or a sad face :(. Without them you just come across a a dick!
It was not said as a joke. And I do not use emoticons.

We know you don't use emoticons. The problem with this is that you just come across as an aggressive arse when maybe you're not. Emoticons impart the body language that is missing from forums like this, the non-verbal communication that is 80% of actual communication. It's not the words that matter, it's the way theya re imparted. Or are you an angsty confrontational twit in real life as well?? Cos that is how you come across despite your poins often being valid

Don't feed the troll
For anyone thinking of leaving due to posts from one or two individuals, when you click on any members name it brings up a profile popup that includes an ignore button to mute their posts
Ignoring anything is not a solution. It is simply a way of burying your head in the sand and hoping something will just go away. I realise that this is the approach preferred and adopted by most people in this board, indeed most people in Stafford, which is why it is in the mess it is in. However, if anyone wishes to take the soft option to leave they should do so. There is no need for them to formally announce their departure or make a fuss, nobody is interested, just go, if that is how little you value Stafford.

Not too long ago this was a light-hearted friendly forum where local Stafford issues were discussed, information was shared and people chatted and developed friendships.
People not wanting to be spend their free time as part of a constantly negative exercise in trolling that this forum is rapidly turning into is NOT "burying your head in the sand" or taking "the soft option". It's just making a choice on how to spend your free time.
It's not as if posting on this forum does anything other than pass the time of day

Alright, calm down everybody. Gordon Bennett, have you lot never heard of "don't feed the troll"??

@HopesDad is on a time out, so everyone has a chance to pop the kettle on. Mine's a tea, no sugar. I'll have a mince pie, if there are any still going spare. :)
Greedy git!

Did you try the chocolate orange mince pies and the salted caramel mince pies that were on sale in Aldi this year? Lasted about 30 seconds in our house!!!

Yes, yes I did. Although I was only able to get the salted caramel once; they were sold out every other time I tried to get them!
