Hi can anyone recommend anywhere thats doesn't charge an arm and a leg for car hire for a prom, tried all the obvious places on the internet but they all want just short of £400, thats an expensive taxi if you ask me, as its only a a drop off needed.

I think most of the limo prices will be around the same price. If I remember correctly, you get the car for about two hours.

Save the money, drop off in your normal car ,and have a holiday with the money u save is my recommendation! So many cars arrive at once people barely register most of them sadly!

I hired a Mercedes C class for my step daughters prom. Cost me about £70 for the day I think. Put me suit on and bought a chauffers hat on eBay for £8... job done! As a bonus, got to play with something I can't afford for 24 hours :)

I know someone with a 50's Vauxhall Cresta like this one....

Or be utterly different. Know an ice-cream man? Farmer with a tractor? There are so many options that people actually use.

My sons prom was 5 years ago and I did think we'd got off so lightly having a boy and not a girl.

He'd already got a nice suit so we only had to pay for the limo.

Girls need dress, hair, nails, shoes, spray tan, ......and the rest.

Anyway, we got the limo from somewhere in Brownhills. Can't remember the name but it was on the main road. Cheaper than any of the others that we had contacted...and like you, it was only for a drop off.
Shared between 8 of them it wasn't so much.

However, I do agree with the others..... I went to watch a prom arrival a few years back and the ones that got the biggest cheers were the original ones...not so much the limos nowadays.

Good luck with whatever you decide......it will be fun and a night to remember.
