Right...i've spoken to Jamie @ The Railway and he's fine with us having the beer garden on Sunday 25th, and we can also use the marquee and barbecue!

Unfortunately we can't have the Railway on Sun 25th after all as they have a charity thing on, but we can have it on Sat 24th if that's any good..

right then- sat 24th, railway, bring beer tokens......now what time are we getting this party started?
im going to sort my train ticket tomorrow and dont want to end up playing catch up all day- itll only be messier than normal at the end else! :gag:
do we need to bring our own food for bbq or will jamie source it and we pay him?

am i right in thinking the 24th you are talking about is may 24th? as in the same weekend as the Middle of Nowhere festival? isnt there some way we can not clash these good and important local things... sorry if im causing jonny-come-lately trouble

I did mention this last year! Maybe next year we could put the Garden party on the first May holiday? After starting this topic, I feel quite guilty, I realised some weeks ago that I would not be able to attend, so my apologies in advance. It's half term and I have my two children for the week back in Somerset and I've not seen them since Easter.Scuttlingb said:

Jamie's still willing to let it go ahead on Sat 24th, but I cannot commit myself to the organisation of it and don't even know whether i'll be going or not! I'm literally in the middle of major house developments and that weekend lends itself perfectly to getting a lot done. He wouldn't put a BBQ on or provide meat, but he is more than happy to let someone else do it, thus removing liability from his shoulders should anyone die from food poisoning or something...dirtybobby said:

Just change the location... for this year and those people who ARE in or around Stafford get yer hands on some Middle of nowhere tickets* and join us for a weekend of drinking, music and merriment

Sounds like a plan, unless we have a general beer garden drinking afternoon for those not inclined to go to the festival...minimal organisation, and people can come and go as they wish.
