What's wrong with piercings and tattoos?
I have both , does that mean I don't value myself ?
One of my earliest memories is of having a piercing - and of my blood dripping down from the hair of the bloke that was sewing me back up again.

I've just clicked on the "ignore button@ on @HopesDad profile.

First time I've done that to any forumite, I don't mind a bit of healthy debate, or hearing someone else's point of view but I just find him totally ridiculous.

I agree that he's playing a part..... the part of a troll.

At least I won't have to listen to his constant negativity anymore. I wish I'd clicked "Ignore" ages ago.
Did that a while ago, the forum is much calmer :)

Reported - personal abuse and profanity.

Please highlight to me the part of JTL85's post that contains profanity. :?:

He called you a cretin, but please explain to me how that is any worse than the insults that you casually throw around (e.g. your continued use of the pejorative "chavs")?

You are persuasively motivating me to make you the first person ever to be banned from Stafford Forum purely on the basis of being a pleb. I won't, however, because:
We all know this Hope fellow is just playing a character right?

I'm glad someone gets it!

I've just clicked on the "ignore button on @@HopesDad's profile.

I would encourage others to brighten their lives in this way. :)

We do use farm shops.

And Waitrose is better, it is not a misconception. Have you ever even been in one?

I have in Leek.

Only food store ever I have purchased mouldy fish and bananas from. 100% true.

No wonder waitrose are doing a Morrisons and closing down stores. They even admit they have suffered to the likes of aldi and lidl.

Perhaps those middle classes like to dress as chavs.

Of course that is why I but my fish and fruit and veg in Mill Street. Quality and supporting independents. Maybe these are the types you wish you could support ????

I could be way off but PPPPP went awfully quiet when you came on the scene. He/ she talked about shopping a waitrose in Uttoxeter........hmmmm lol ;)

Oh yes, the quality of everything is far superior to the likes of Aldi. Fresh goods are actually fresh, everything is clean and neatly laid out, far better selection of food that people like me want to buy, rather than just crap for the masses. And the shop itself is tidier, better laid out and more accessible. Staff are knowledgeable, polite and friendly, clean and well presented, free of tattoos and piercings. They are fluent in English and are able to string more than two words together to make a coherent sentence. Altogether a much better experience.

As for the prices well yes, Waitrose is a bit more expensive but, as I said, you get what you pay for and quality costs. I have no idea what the average wage is, but my salary is very considerably higher, so saving a few pence here and there is not important to me. I think that I and my family are worth that, presumably you, like so many Stafford people, don't value yourself so highly.

What the f*ck is the matter with you? Why can't you just give your opinion of Waitrose without being personally offensive? Was I perosnally offensive to you? I absolutely was not, yet you feel it's ok to be offensive to me in a totally uncalled for manner. You know absolutely nothing about me so I suggest you keep your abuse to yourself.

Forumites, should i not have risen to the bait??

I think if you read Hopelessdad's email again you'll find it's because you're from Stafford that you don't value yourself not because of any piercings or tattoos.

Personally I place little value on the opinion of some idiot who spouts total rubbish about Stafford's shops and it's inhabitants but at the same time states they have either never been into said shops and chooses not to shop in Stafford but notes they are in decline recently.

By the way I find foreign speaking staff most helpful when translating the words on the tins in certain establishments

Yes, and I've also priced installations at food production plants that supply Waitrose as well as other supermarkets. Same stuff, different label

I've known this for years and amazed that more people don't realise the fact.

It's interesting that supposedly intelligent people get caught up in packaging, advertising, and cost....as in "if it costs more then it it must be higher quality"

What @rudie111 says is fact, .... many food production plants make items for numerous supermarkets. An item in a basic plain packaging is more often than not the same item in another supermarket (or even the same supermarket) but branded differently.

No matter how much people earn, I genuinely don't understand why people would want to pay double for their supermarket shopping when they don't have to.

Jesus, I went in to the one in Newport the other day and came out convinced the prices in there were not for 'normal' employed people. I earn well above the average wage but baulked at Waitroses prices. Do you really think that the fresh fruit and veg at Waitrose is more superior? I certainly don't. Their banana's were the same as the ones in Lidl, but 3 times the price, as were their Avocado's. And surely organic milk is the same wherever it is purchased?
This is very difficult for me but I actually agree with Kyoto here ( I just swallowed a little bit of sick)
I don't do much supermarket shopping (I've got a wife for that) but I've very recently been in both Waitrose & Aldi at Newport & Waitrose really is a shithole compare to Aldi.
P. S. As for piercings, I think anyone with piercings is more valuable. Have you seen the the price of scrap metal recently??
