If it is to become a Paragon Pubs owned/ran place this is great news. Both The Swan with Two Necks and The Wayfarer are great for food. It'll be interesting to see what impact this will have on other higher end eateries such as The Swan.

Whilst the Swan With Two Necks is very good, haven't tried The Wayfarer. If I were Chris Lewis I wouldn't be sweating too much.

Really? Not been myself but heard nothing but good about the place.
Not just on here I hasten to add.

Enjoying a drop of red.
It's well documented on here that I'm more than a bit of a Lewis Group groupie, but I also love Paragon pubs. My least favourite being the Swan with Two Necks (I find it a bit pretentious, it's just me, I know). The Wayfarer, and Orange Tree are truly lovely though and the Sheet Anchor is sublime.

No such thing as too much competition. There's plenty of money to go round for this type of establishment and competition just raises the overall standard.

Good for all concerned.

Come late to this!
Loving that Paragon have taken over! Certainly had good experiences at The Swan with 2, and the Wayf'!.
Cut above the usual Pub (2 for £10) grub, and the prices reflect that! Pay your money, you make your choice! Am sure the South End crowd will be able to afford it, and if they can't, the Chet might not loose out too much, as I expect foot/car fall to increase!

Choice!:bravo:

:shifty: Au revoir Whacky Wearhouse? ;)

I now have a vision of being surrounded by emojis whilst dining. But hey some of my best friends are Tex Averey characters....

A planning application has been submitted to South Staffs Council (17/00801/FUL) for "Installation of new bi-fold doors to side elevation, erection of lean-to structure to rear & general landscaping & decorative works." The plans suggest that work is actually going to be more extensive than this. Looks like a full restaurant but with a few bar stools along the bar for drinkers.
