Has anyone who's got hayfever noticed any symptoms already. I've started having itchy eyes and a bit of a runny nose- don't know if i'm imagining it though

I don't get hayfever (normally) but I have been itchy of eye and rather sneezey. Doesn't bode well.

Lots of people at work are the same, we're turning in to the Ministry of Silly Sneezes. I have a squeeky one to my right, a screamer at the back of the office and one of those people that seem to do the last hummy part for ages afterwards at the front.

one of my colleagues used to have an annual hayfever jab at his gp's to try and stave off the worst of the syptoms.....are you eligible for one of those if theyre doling them out?

hope it isnt hayfever yet though- blimming heck, we've only just got rid of the snow!!!!

Best thing for hayfever is a couple of spoonfuls of local (has to be local) honey. Helps you build up immunity to local pollen. I used to work for Holland and Barrett in me school days - their stores used to buy a small batch of locally produced honey throughout the summer. Worth a try?

ive never heard of that....but it does make complete sense.

i spose farm shops might be the best bet for something like that.

how local is local though?

Good question that. I vaguely remember something about a 20 mile radius but am happy to be corrected. I last did the whole health/alternative sales pitch some ten years ago now.

T'would be good to start taking it now - I think the effect is cumulative. Everyone I used to sell it to always came back for more so it must have had something to it.

:?:

Now officially out of my depth.

If you baked it in to a cake you'd need your daily dose of vitamin cake and get fat or :teef: Also, heating it to a certain point might break down molecules of things you want.

Answers on a postcard please: How to get hayfever sufferers to eat their honey?

the only other thing i can think of is if you use honey instead of sugar in tea....but then i suspect the heat thing may apply, and its only any good if you have sugar in your tea!

anders, it looks like your stuck with the antihistamine im afraid. :(

I suffer April/May time due to the allergy I have with the tree pollen,( hard to say atm cos I've been full of the Flu for two weeks, so have all the above symptoms anyway). I'm done and dusted through the summertime months, once the trees have blossomed.
No medicines have ever worked for me, herbal or other...keep the windows closed is my suggestion and get a Michael Jackson mask.

i think walking around in a WWII gasmask for 2 months would probably be a preferable solution

Out of curiosity Is anyone else suffering with really bad hayfever at the moment?

I occasionally get hayfever for a week or two in early May (presumably trees of some kind) but this year it hasn't gone away and is making me feel really icky, I was in the town centre earlier and my eyes were streaming and itchy and I just feel totally ick!

Just wondering is any one was suffering who doesn't normally, i've heard a few people who normally suffer hay fever saying they aren't too affected if at all yet, but people like me who aren't normally that bad are having a rough time with it, it's particularly frustrating as its been so wet you would think there shouldn't be a problem.

I am someone who usually gets severe hayfever throughout the summer. I haven't had any symptoms at all so far (touch wood!) Sorry to hear that you've been suffering though Darben :(
