Compare the above percentages to the percentage drop in tax rate (28.5% i.e. 8 percentage points) and the increase in annual tax receipts (15.5%).

If you're right in what you imply, it seems that inflation and the rising population pretty much cancel out the increase in tax receipts leaving us with the drop in tax rate having no appreciable effect.

But I'm certainly no expert so best read the article.

And there's this .... http://www.politics.co.uk/comment-a...-balanced-guide-to-the-draft-labour-manifesto

My job is data, I'm always cynical about figures! You can read data multiple ways, if you see a small subset you always wonder what non-reported factors could sway it. Really you need to know population and spend to work out if we're gaining or losing per pound spent in the country.

Excellent site. On their prediction page they are predicting Labour to be around 150 seats. Some of the predicted Tory gains on paper seem a little out of reach.
Labour could hold on to more seats than predicted and return around 180 seats but a really bad result could see Labour down to around 120.

Gentlemen

Take care in what you wish for

That is all

Us (we're) and them (they're).
.... And after all we're only ordinary men.

ETA I've just had a couple of quid at 50/1 on Vince Cable becoming the next leader of the LibDems after Farron resigns after not reaching the "doubling the number of MPs" target he'd set himself.

Voting for him?
I can't answer that as yet I'm afraid, whilst I have no qualms about him as a person, I'd be interested to understand the actual politics nationally and locally first for all parties before I make my private decision of who I chose to vote for

Would the Russians prefer her to be in charge or not?

They would like to destabilise the EU and they have a lot of their stolen money stashed here.
