Sauna, Steam room, Jacuzzi, Gym in Stafford

Hello fellow Stafford member,
last time we have virgin active health club at McDonald/Ford there, but as it closed down years ago, i struggle to find similar facilities in Stafford. i could find gym club with sauna, but not with steam room and Jacuzzi/swimming pool.
the nearest i can find is Mercure hotel at Perkins, but that's a little too far from Stafford town, and not sure if they take membership for their health club.
could fellow Stafford member please recommend me where could i find Sauna, Steam room, Jacuzzi, Gym in Stafford (similar to Virgin Active health club years ago)?

There are quite a few 'gym people' on here ( I am not one ) - I'm sure advice will arrive shortly.

I think Perkins is pronounced Penkridge, although to be fair it can be a difficult accent

Stafford has less swimming pools than Greggs bakeries

HI pasta its a bit of a nightmare. We had exactly the same problem when Virgin active closed down and we looked at all that was available to see if we could compromise and miss out on certain things like the pool, sauna etc. We found we preferred a health club which offered everything and we made the decision to join Nuffield gym which is just on the outskirts of Wolverhampton and which also has one with the same facilities in Cannock. At the time we weren't sure whether we would be able to cope with the distance from Stafford but we have found 18 months later its been a good decision, its actually just as easy to get to - taking just 20-25 ins down the A449 and given what a joke Stafford traffic can be sometimes we have actually decided we prefer the location of the Wolverhampton Nuffield and find it quite convenient for us.

The Nuffield offers everything you ask for, i suggest you take advantage of their free trial pass.

a friend of mine speaks highly of the Nuffield in Telford

I use I- motion gym as it's affordable and convenient. I would love somewhere I could afford which had a pool and steam room.
I have no idea what the cost would be (huge I'd imagine) but I guess places like moddershall oaks or hoar cross hall have all you ask for.

There is also the fit box just outside Gnosall. It's a small, gym only studio with classes roughly twice a day. Very friendly group and PT sessions. Not what you are looking for but might appeal to someone following the thread wanting small and friendly set up.

I must admit that prior to your post I was unaware that Penkridge had been rebranded "Stafford South" by Mercure Hotels. I'm sure the Penkrigians are head over heels with delight about that one.

Perkins is probably not much use for spa facilities, but is quite handy for diesel generators from what I understand....
