Ah, I noticed the groundwork going on the other day - and that the outer grass area is still being regularly driven over.

I also note that the drawing makes the traditional mistake of calling it Western Road.

Not again. Couldn't they have done all this when the same stretch of road was closed for water works months before!

Severn Trent are repairing the road surface down to Milford. The Gas works are around the Roundabouts.

The correct etiquette for the use of traffic lights has sadly passed very many Staffordians by!

Red light cameras on all traffic lights, with the generous proceeds to the NHS would be fine by me.

Some of us can remember when there were no lights there. There was the odd knock, but generally at lower speeds than happens now, with the widened road and improved vision.

It's more a case of the Green lights

I'm sure it's me being slow (or possibly the effects of red wine) but I don't follow you chap!
Because there has been a change in the light sequence, opposite traffic used to have a red light, giving traffic turning right towards Tixall priority, it seems now thats not the case. So traffic turning right heads straight into the path of oncoming traffic. Not a good move and it appears no indication that there has been a change in the sequence. (My understanding) Hope that makes sense.

Ah right, I get you now. Will have more wine to clear my head.

Severn Trent will be carrying out work in Stafford this summer to replace the road surface on a route [A513 A34 Lichfield Road] into the town.

The A513 will be closed from the junction of Brocton Road to the junction of Hillcroft Avenue from Monday 24 July.

On 14 August the closure will move to the west of the Hillcroft Avenue junction up to the Weeping Cross island.

Radford Bank will have two-way lights from 14 August for 2-3 weeks.

All of the work should be complete by the beginning of September and a fully signposted diversion will be in place.

Yippee, the improved fuel consumption and drop in emissions brought about by the relatively free-moving traffic up that end of town has been quite tiresome. A return to some contemplative time, stationary in traffic, is most welcome. It's just a shame they can't extend it a bit longer.

Or can they?
