Something like this style?

I've been quoted £1,600 by Safestyle.

Jeeze!!

Safestyle quoted me £1150 for the exact same door (different colour) only 2 months ago.

They are rip off merchants!
Thanks TCRL. I had already signed and paid a £100 'deposit' (refundable) so I'm going to cancel. They give you 7 calendar days, including the day that you sign the paperwork, so I'd better get a move on. Cheers.

There are plenty of suppliers, but those boys are local - I would expect that it can all be done in three figures.
Although it has Colton / Lichfield in the web address, it does say on the website that the business is based in Derby, but I'm not too fussed about that.

Ah, the phone code fooled me - it 'looked like' 01543 in my head - they seem to be in Leicestershire really.

Still worth a try and try some others, too.

They probably all come out of the same few factories.

I did 'design' a similar door to yours on another site and it came out at £580, but nowhere was I asked for dimensions...

Well I cancelled my £1,600 door and low and behold, I get a 'phone call from Safestyle the next day advising that they can look into the costing as it keeps somebody in a job making doors. So, we shall see what their offer is when their surveyor turns up next week.

Well, had a call from their retention team and after much discussion, we both concluded that they couldn't go under £1,250 and I couldn't go over £1,000. And never the twain shall meet.

Had a visit by Glass and Glazing to-day. Nice chap who didn't give the hard sell and left within 20 minutes to allow me to make my mind up about what door style I'd like.
How was their pricing?

Edit: I assume it includes a frame?

He didn't give me a price there and then as I needed to make my mind up which style and type (Solidor or usual composite) I wanted. He also took measurements so I suppose that will make influence how much. Regardless of cost, I am extremely happy with their approach so far.

Glass & Glazing are a great company. I've had windows and doors from them. Prices good, I didn't pay until they were fitted, fitters turned up on day and time agreed and after fitting, left the place clean and tidy.

Can only echo that. I wouldn't go anywhere else now and Malcolm is a top bloke.

Despite the carers fab effort at fitting our wooden front door, my effort at 64 coats of yatcht varnish havent stopped the rain getting in & it swelling & sticking all last winter....
