Come and join the Staffordshire branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) for a family-friendly stroll on Cannock Chase on Sunday 19 November. Jeremy Lefroy, MP for Stafford, will be joining us to talk about countryside and development related issues.
Meet at 1:45pm outside the visitor centre at Marquis Drive (WS12 4PR), where we will be planting a spcial 'legacy tree' to mark the launch of the national Tree Charter headed by the Woodland Trust, before setting off for a 2pm start. The route will be just over 1.5 miles on hard paths and is pushchair and wheelchair accessible. Walkers will have the opportunity to learn more about the CPRE’s work both locally and nationally, and there will be a free raffle and free colouring packs for children.
At the end of the walk, walkers can enjoy a complimentary slice of cake and a hot drink in the café. There will also be an optional talk from war museum volunteers about the history of Cannock Chase.
The entry fee is £5 for adults and £3 for children or £15 for a family of two adults and up to three children. All money raised will help support the charity's valuable work in protecting the countryside and safeguarding it for future generations.
