Does anyone know why the nativity scene isn't outside the Shire Hall by the tree anymore? I hope it wasn't vandalised.
A nativity scene was vandalised in The Sun circa 1978, to my knowledge the culprit is still at large.....

A large red flower on a 12" pin was stolen fron the Swan in late December 1970 ish the culprit was seen walking thought the town using it as a buttonhole that covered his chest.

(We ought to start a thread "Confessions of drunken antics" lighthearted ones only though!

Christmas tree in Market Square looking a bit dishevelled. Somebody should have taken greater care with the transportation.

Still plenty of time to get it looking good before Saturday.

That's the replacement then, the first one was rather disappointing.

By the point at which the protective 'bucket' had been assembled round it, it looked a bit silly.

Thought new tree itself looked totally fine to be honest when I saw it today ( before any decs), enlarging the newsletter it doesn't looked dishevelled, again before any decs.

The one I saw late afternoon looked shit. Broken branches etc.

However I'm sure a bit of skill with a chainsaw to shape the bottom will sort it out and the rest can be masked by deccys.
