Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

Would have been a bit daft to move to the old PC World shop, pretty sure it's smaller and that "retail park" isn't exactly highly trodden.

It seems that Matalan were considering downsizing, either moving to the old PC World or a smaller unit at Queens, they have now decided to retain their current trading policy. Or negotiated a better deal on the lease renewal.

Traditional pubs are dying, if not dead. I rarely go out just to have a drink.

I disagree. I believe there has been resurgence in the traditional pub and real ale, as demonstrated by the floodgate, no.7 and others. I would argue that most of the real ale pubs in Stafford, of which there are now many, are all beer led.

Maybe niche 'real ale' pubs are doing ok, but a pub as the traditional meeting place is dying in my opinion.

I noticed yesterday that the kitchen & bathroom place near to the sun inn are relocating.

I have heard that the site owner has car dealerships I Wolverhampton and is considering opening a specialist Suberu outlet on the island and some of the units have been told to vacate to create space by the land owner. How true this is will remain to be seen...

Are you thinking of Eagle bathrooms, which is on the island? The one that’s relocating is up by the cinema.
