Oxford Gardens

Hi all

Im moving into stafford and have found a lovely little flat to rent on Oxford gardens. My only issue is the on road parking. I have a massive driveway so this is a totally new concept. The flat is quite far down the road in the 250+ numbers. What are people's experiences with parking? And anything else I need to know about the area before I sign on the line?

Parking in OG has steadily escalated and it is virtually a single-track road now - up in the 250s, you are right at the end of the really tight space, it opens up a bit as the semi-detached houses start. People do generally find somewhere nearby still, from what I see.

There will be a service road at the back, if there is parking available to you off that.

Thanks. I did notice the service road when i viewed. But there is a huge shed in the garden so dont think a car would fit in there too

If you're fairly local at the moment, pop up there about 6-7pm and see what you think - that's about the peak time for parking - back from work and not gone out again yet...

Excellent - I'm writing a list...
I've got someone to include!
Back to the parking topic though, I live opposite the end of OG and the parking is chocka up this end but I looked at a house further up before moving here and the parking wasn't too bad if it's opposite the old Lotus factory (new houses) as OG houses are only on one side just there

How do I edit this?
I used to live on the Lotus estate stretch. It was fine for us & for the people at the far end in the semis, as quite a lot of them have drives.

From my recollection 4 or 5 years ago parking from 1 - 74 was a little tricky depending on time, and past Henry Street to Charnley road (209 - 275ish) was pretty difficult.

I can tell you, its chaotic during school times. Parents have got zero respect for the yellow markings or for other residents. Very often parked on double yellows on corners, blocking school entrances with up to a DOZEN cars in School Place, its a disgrace. How anyone can be so bone idle that they cant walk an extra 50 foot, they'd rather put our kids at risk.
