Escape Rooms

Has anyone been to one of these?

I'd no idea of their existence until last night but they do sound like lots of fun.

I've done a quick google search and there are various different companies doing them in Hanley, Newcastle, Wolverhampton, Telford etc, all with different themed rooms to escape from.

Has anyone done this and if so how easy or hard is it to escape? Which one did you go to and which theme did you choose?

I'm thinking of asking some friends to come with us. The minimum number is two people and I think six is the maximum so is it better to have six thereby having more people to work it out or is four better?

I've just noticed on another thread that there's one coming to Stafford soon.

Edited to say that I think there are two coming to Stafford, iEscape and Escape Nation

I've done 3, Birmingham, Doncaster and London. Always got out, but generally with a couple of minutes to spare. They give you clues when they see you're getting stuck. I love them, and I have a very logical brain, but there are often creative type clues too.

Depends on who it is. Only takes one person who’s very persuasive but thick as mud to steer everyone on the wrong path.

Not looking like either is happening. Both said they would exist by the end of 2017 and neither has happened. One of them replied to me saying that it was now unlikely as he couldn't find appropriate premises in Stafford, but I'm actually wondering if it's down to council planning not having it - especially as neither have developed any further.

Perhaps they're here, but nobody has ever got out...?

The one I went to in Doncaster was very basic, in an old office. I don't think you need to spend a lot to get one set up.
