Suncreams

Any recommendations of good suncreams, that don't leave you walking around looking a greasy mess?

Want to be able to go into a bar in the daytime on holiday, without being too greased up to sit down on the chairs!

Other people seem to buy stuff that you can't tell they are wearing it. Whereas no matter how 'invisible ' and 'dry' the suncreams/oils I've bought in the past claim to be , we both just end up dripping with the stuff.

My missus swears by this stuff. ".... 10 hours reliable sun protection with just one application. P20 is very water resistant and easy to apply. ...."

However, there are downsides, for example it'll stain any white clothing.

ETA I rarely use suncream, preferring to stay covered-up or hidden. The tops of my ears is the only place I regularly apply any.

My father had skin cancer on the top of his left ear, due to the right one generally being in the shade.

People who live in sunny places treat the Sun in much the same manner as people in rainy places treat the rain - the shade is your best friend.

This stuff (although for kids) is great...

Soltan Protect & Repel for me, available in lotion, spray & after sun - keeps the bugs away...

I used that last year and still got bitten to death. Had to get medication for an infected leg as I seemed to attract the nastiest of nasties!
The Soltan invisible and dry aren't invisible or dry on my skin. Maybe I'm plastering too much on!

I was looking at that in Boots today. Will give some of that a try then, as well as the Piz Buin I I bought today which was recommended by hubby's work colleague .( That certainly rubs in much better than anything I've tried before)

I like the ' won't run into eyes' on that one!

But to top it off I use this powder from Lush: https://uk.lush.com/products/powdered-sunshine

It's only SPF15 so I wouldn't use it on it's own but I apply it on top of whatever sunscreen I'm using - and it stops me being sticky and mega greasy!

I used it on my honeymoon in 40 degree heat and it was ace!
Oooh interesting! Going down to Worcester sometime soon so will pop in and have a look. The reviews look good.

Thanks for replies folks  :)

Just fancy a holiday looking cool in decent clothes in the daytime for a change, rather than a greasy mess walking around in greasy cream plastered clothing ( not a pretty sight)

I use Boots Soltan Once and find the sprays easier than the lotion.

I use Boots Repel Tropical Formula for bites and haven’t been bitten while using it in Europe and the Caribbean. Prior to doing so I’d always get bitten and, like you, they’d end up infected.

Thanks, will look for the Repel Tropical Formula .

Think I will have to hire myself out for anyone looking for a bite deterrent...if I'm in the area, they all make a beeline for me and everyone else gets off bite free!
