Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

Have the plans for one at The Hough been abandoned?
Plans went in for a Starbucks there which were accepted.

As a resident of the Crossings I'm delighted McDonalds are opening opposite Aldi.

Expect a 2 story building to go up. The one at the top end of town can't expand so it wouldn't surprise me if that one went....

Also I can't imagine for a moment that the Greengate location would close. For a pedestrian to get to the new one opposite Aldi would be to much of a bind....

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the McDonald's in town expanded into Yorkshire bank at some point if it remains empty for long.

I'm partial to the occasional McDonald's not going to lie. Can't see how another one for the north half of Stafford is a benefit. Would have preferred the one originally planned at the Hough to serve the the South side :stafford:

I dont understand why another McDonalds in needed in the town?

why not diversify a little? perhaps a Taccobell? or something different?
See where you're coming from but if someone decides they can make a go of another Maccy D's and no-one fancies having a crack at an alternative that's what's going to happen.
You could always go for a Taccobell franchise yourself if you think it could be a goer.

And in this case it's McDonalds who think they can make another McDonalds work...

I'm all for a taco bell btw

It will be an, umm, refurbed starbucks under a franchise
Indeed, there are jobs being advertised for it now online, which is a bit weird since the place has been fully gutted internally, but work has yet to start putting it back together again.

I don't think the town centre one will bothered the bristol street one might be.

But with the town expanding maybe 3 can cope.
