Stafford Cinema - ups & downs.

Was disappointed when I went, sound was dreadful. Music in movie was loud but actors talking was almost inaudible.

When you can go to the odeon at festival park for a fiver........it is a rip off and the was not an enjoyable experience I am after.

The red carpet place at barton under needwood is the way to do this sort of thing properly
Personally had no problems with sound quality.
Wouldn't drive to Stoke to watch a film and certainly not to Barton.
Just don't like being surrounded by a large mass of people talking over the film, rustling crisp packets, fractious children etc.
A couple of dozen people with sufficient attention span to watch a film without getting distracted and distracting others around them works for me personally.

It is a room above a pub in a country village. It is not claiming to be the Odeon Leicester Square.

For a bloody fiver, a rip off in a tiny screen and crap sound. A novelity that isn't worth a visit more than once

I am a movie buff and visit cinemas across the midlands and locally without any issues. If I am paying a fiver.........you get a top picture and sound quality at the Odeon ( for the same price), not in a room where you can hear what is going on in others rooms and poor sound quality.

Done way way better in many other places.

That reads so much like the type of response one would expect from HopelessDad.

You are one to talk with the comments on crap food establishments recently ;)

But at the end of the day there is a difference between being negative for negatives sake and an opinion on an actual poor experience.

ST16 Represent.
I am not a movie buff and as of next week I will be a proud wearer of not one but two hearing aids. With that in mind I found the cinema experience in town good, the 3 times I ever went there.

It wasn't your opinion I had a problem with. The language you used in that particular post was very similar to the Hopeless one, that's all.

Peace and love :D

So - hand written posters have appeared on the closed Stafford cinema saying

'Opening Soon, Staff required Management & Projection plus Receptionists, Experience Preferred - phone 07812 192714 for details"

No other details.

I can't see anything on planning / license details - anyone know anything?

Projection? Surely not reopening as a cinema. Perhaps it’s the new place recruiting, albeit very oddly?

I used to work there and, though I can't say much else, I can confirm that the people who put those signs up do indeed want to reopen it as a cinema.

Well someone's clearly been in, the lights were on when I walked past this evening .
