Not sure if mentioned on here before.....
Just had a leaflet through advertising' a brand new community park' coming to the area. Front page all about wildlife links, new play areas and improvements to Stafford, better footpaths blah blah blah......

Turn the page... Form inside to fill in to approve of the scheme........GLADMAN appears in the address..... Back page has a very discreet ' development of 155 dwellings' .

I thought great when I saw the leaflet. Opened it up and it is a housing development. All the house plots are shown in a light shade of green so as not to highlight.
A fine example of how to disguise unwanted housing plans.
93 family homes with the addition of two pedestrian crossings across the A34

Don't be fooled, non of the proposed improvements will happen, The developer will make a section 106 payment to the council, who wants/needs the money, and the proposed community improvements/affordable housing will be quietly swept under the carpet.

The council will have already given the developer the nod that it will get planning application approval. This is how our corrupt/self serving council operates.

People affected by this need to make some loud noises and get an opposition group formed to make their opposition known, sitting back and hoping it won't happen will not work.

Is this the same planning application that South Staffordshire Council refused, which has now gone to appeal? Is this the developer trying to create an argument to win at appeal? I don't suppose there is any mention of that in the leaflet they've put out...... It is important to object to this if you don't want it to go ahead, the leaflet I saw only gave an option for support - web link here: http://www.actonhillpark.com/

This is outside Stafford Borough (just), so our own Council doesn't get to determine the outcome.

Apparently we're getting a nice park with cycle trails all for free, that's according to a leaflet I've just received.

Small snag, it's on green belt land along with a massive housing estate.

It's basically the plans for the Acton Hill houses that was recently declined resubmitted with some "bonuses" to try to get the locals to agree to it.

(Edit: I wrote green belt, I actually meant green field land).

The leaflet in question has a slip on the back you can return to Gladman House, Congleton, Cheshire. Hmm, I wonder who that could be? doesn't sound like the local planning office.

Could it be these people?

Sorry about the dupe, I did look down the list and didn't see a thread.

It is sneaky to emphasise all of the park facilities, the nature conservation etc, but not actually show in detail the houses.

Also, remember this was a development that the council said was "off-plan".

Pleased to say I've just received a leaflet to fill in and return to Bridle Road Post Office to object to the proposal.

Hopefully people who were fooled into thinking the Gladman development leaflet was actually about a 'New Community Park ' being planned, will now read this leaflet which points out that it is not a 'Wildlife Community Park' but the same Housing Development that was refused in 2017, and sign this objection slip.
