It's worth mentioning that anyone taking an early flight from Manchester should consider the A34 / "D" road / A34 / A538 route i.e. via Stoke, Congleton and Wilmslow. Going via the motorway usually takes us 75 minutes early morning. This route took us just 15 minutes longer and gave us the option of a u-turn if we ran into traffic problems. Coming back early Friday evening took about the same time as well.Just got back from a week in Aghios Nikolaos, in Crete. Apart from one day when it was cloudy, we had hot weather throughout, though the evenings could be a bit cool.
Here's the harbour ....

Thats where we're staying, the kipriotis maris suites. Means we can do all the culture and stuff but we're far enough away from the main drag. That said I booked this as a quiet escape after a very busy few months, I'm now suddenly single so may be wishing I was more in the town!Lovely island, been twice a year for a number of years now. Where abouts are you staying, I normally stay in Psalidi, far enough away from town for peace and quiet but still only a 20 min walk to town.
Leave in a few hours, boarding passes printed and just gotta sort a taxi out to the train station. You have no idea how much I need this right now....
(Man hug).Just checked out :-(
Flight isn't til 1am and can still use the all inclusive, don't want to come home though.
Kos' very own Shirley Valentine.Coach picks us up in 5 mins, tempted to 'forget' my passport!
