Stafford Cinema - ups & downs.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Reopening so you can sit in discomfort whilst you watch the film...
I wonder if there'll still be the same smell of stale piss as there always was. Guess so if they haven't changed the carpets and seating.

I'll have a P please Bob.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I can't imagine they will have spent money on changing the seating or carpets.

They said in the article they'll look at refurbing it in the future, starting with screen one. So looks like the priority was to get it open at a basic standard, and generating money , that'll be reinvested in the place.

They're already put more effort into it that Curzon did.

anyone been yet? I've looked at times for the weekend but internet booking isn't working at the moment, I might go peer at the outside later when I pop out the house, don't want to be organizing babysitters then not be able to go :D

Current films on...

No card payments currently being taken...

Surprised they don't have any morning kids films on over half term...

Been told by someone who works there, it'll be open for business by tomorrow night.

That’s not an extension you see very often these days.

No card payments is a bit odd. You don’t have to go with one of the old-hat, slow as hell crap from the usual companies as it’s now relatively easy to get hold of card readers from Square and other companies who will barely charge you any fees.

Good time to open really, given Avengers (a film that has had such a ridiculously big lead up it’s had 5 or so films in the MCU just to introduce different pieces of the puzzle for the plot line) is on and the nearest cinema would be a good half hour drive away if not more.

Solo was promised also - don't know if it's actually showing, but it so definitely should be.

Half Term holidays for people 'out of the loop'.

Very back to basics in there, minimal refreshments, no ads, there were trailers for future movies though. £7 a ticket, bottled water £1, can’t report on anything else cinema wise, enjoyed Deadpool 2 though! And, bonus, didn’t have to travel miles to see a movie, saved us another hour of babysitting so we managed a meal out too :bananafunk:

I saw Solo there this very day.

It's a good film - it's not as good as Rogue One, but they are big boots to fill - and it was definitely better to go into Town to watch a film than it was to drive to Uttoxeter.

It's definitely a cinema in Stafford, so it certainly has that going for it.

It might need a little bit more than that 'going forward'.

Perfectly acceptable Cinematic experience - would recommend if only because there were zero adverts before the Film kicked off.

A long time ago...

What ees thees loop?
Some people just know the pull and thrust of the academic year.

Just like my friend Dave, who knows the high & low tides off the coast of Dartmouth.

To some it matters, and it registers. To others it doesn't and it doesn't.

It remains a phenomenon regardless.
