Pleased to say I've just received a leaflet to fill in and return to Bridle Road Post Office to object to the proposal...
Was there a link to an online equivalent on said leaflet?

I've half a mind to give a positive reaction simply to applaud their genius in being so duplicitous.

Full marks also for giving the accidental impression that these 'with care' apartments are charities, not hugely profitable projects of a massively rich developer.

No I don't remember seeing one, just the paper slip to return to the local post office.

Making the most of the view of the lovely field from my window while it's still there . Can see the sneaky b@st'ards getting their way eventually .

They are nothing if not persistent. Well, apart from being sneaky b@stards of the first order.

Enjoy your view while you can.

Often as part of the promotion agreements between the land promoter and land owner there is a clause which states that the promoter will use best endeavours to obtain planning permission. As such, they have to appeal the decision.

The planning application and approval is just a legal nicety as they development will have already been approved with a gentlemans 'handshake' agreement. Why waste time and money putting in an application if there is a chance it will be refused.

That's not true. Trust me I work in the industry. If it was that easy all the house builders / land promoters would be offering backhanders. I've never known that happen in all my years in the profession.

Black belt? Whatever, a bit of googling reveals that Gladman's success is built on securing planning permission where others fear to tread.

I'm surprised Gladman have withdrawn the appeal. I can only assume that they've received negative legal advice.

Usually land promoters use a tactic called 'twin tracking'. This is whereby the appellant will appeal the 1st application and whilst that's awaiting an inquiry date submit a 2nd planning application which is better than the 1st.

Gladman are a nightmare, proper land grabbers and sneaky too! make sure you object on the councils official planning site too as soon as they apply, you may not be notified by the way.., Stafford are fulfilling the requirement of housing numbers at present I believe so no need to build on farmland
