Hey, need my aerial realigning or replacing on the roof, seems to be only picking up about half without breakup now.

Can anyone recommend a local company ?

Used them a few years ago to upgrade and very happy with both service and price.

Erm, the aerial goes into a distribution box in the loft, which is mains powered, the signal is then fed to three rooms in the house.

I'm not sure if it's the box at fault or the aerial, and if I start buying bits , it's probably the aerial anyway.

Yes sounds the same as ours. Our aerial is in the loft but we have a mains powered amplifier (less than a tenner) which you feed the aerial through on the way to the TV (pass through) and it boosts the whole lot... Just a thought

Rang rugeley aerials and they said a mobile company has just installed a 4G mast in the area, causing problems with quite a few people, fantastic. Quoted 80 pounds plus vat.

Hmm, after some further investigation, I'm not sure it's actually the aerial at fault , I seem to get near perfect signal at night and early morning, just when it's blisteringly hot I lose the channels.

Checked the loft, and it's quite hot up there, the splitter box seems warm to touch too, so maybe that's the issue ?, Probably doesn't help the aerial being red hot either.

Any thoughts on anything I could try ?

All,

What would you consider a reasonable price to be, for a Stafford based aerial engineer to provided and fit an aerial?

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I think my Mum paid about £150 for a new aerial about 3-4 years ago so I would imagine it will still be around that price or higher.

Just found my old paperwork...I paid £184 for a new aerial and an extra aerial lead from the loft down into one of the bedrooms with D & D Aerials back in 2009 .

Got him down to below £100, nice enough chap, good job, would recommend.
That's good to know. One of their guys lives across the road so I'm almost obliged to give them first dibs if I need any work doing.
