Tarmac melted on the road outside the house this afternoon, not a good thing when you have gravel on your car parking space. My wheels are now about 24 inches diameter. I would not have ventured out but had something to pick up from town,I am now the appreciative owner of a portable air con unit. :D :xmas:

For one reason or another, myself and another member of staff spent the night up Royal Stoke A&E with a patient,
Without giving owt away, this person couldn't be left with just 1 member of staff, there had be 2 there all the time. Not once were we offered a cup of tea or water in the 10hrs we were up there, only got given a chair at 5.30am this morning. It wasn't like they were rushed off their feet or anything, in fact, the staff spent a lot of time at the nurses station talking about their partners and what they were like round the home.
We waited almost 4hrs to be seen by a Doctor, I had to ask if we'd been forgotten about because we'd waited in reception for so long. Within 2 mins of my asking, boom, someone appeared. It was only when the nursing staff were examining him that we had the chance go the loo.
My point is, i've never experienced this sort of treatment at Stafford/County/DGH. Staff up there are lovely, and helpful. I just hope the merger with St.Georges gives them all a kick up the arse that's needed. Sorry if i've waffled, i'm no good at getting my feelings across.

Again, for one reason or another, I spent the morning yesterday up the County/DGH with another patient. The staff on Ward 12 were lovely, the nurse and healthcare running the bay we were in spent time talking to every patient and myself, even tho they were quite busy.
The ward manager showed me round, where to get pads etc and took me to the ward kitchen and told me help myself to drinks, didn't need telling twice!
A much nicer experience than Stoke other week.

don't mention the blinds
Just created a 'safe zone' in the garden whereby I can discreetly sunbathe bollock naked

Very popular in Austria, Hungary and Sweden I believe.....

Had a rather nice Afternoon Tea for 2 at the Moat House today. Lovely place, we’ll probably go there again at some point and drag some family in tow.

Oh so THAT’S why there was one in the car park in Tesco. I thought it was just people being slobs (still is...)

It was upright and no car in sight though.
