Big cuffy to their cottage booking section.
Firstly I was told that the cottage I want to book in September wasn't available despite their web booking saying it was.
Secondly I was told that I don't get a discount for second bookings or CAMRA membership despite CAMRA and Hoseasons websites advertising that they do.
Thirdly I got transferred to Cottages.com and had to wait another 10 mins before someone answered. Luckily it's not my phone bill.
Eventually I managed to book the cottage and get the owner's discount of £142 (whatever that means) and 20% off for my CAMRA membership.
Happy now
I just paid £2.95 a pint for Coke at a Haven holiday site and thought it was steep. Aren't most pubs etc usually around the £1 mark for a 1/2 pint, or is it just really a long time since I've gone out in the evenings? Either way, would I heck as like pay £4 odd for a soft drink!!
Some foreign tourists that I know had booked some rail tickets online and needed to collect them at the station. I've never done a collection from the machines at the station, but, as I was giving them a lift there and there was parking space, I decided to pop in with them and seen what happened.
Well, we spotted the most excellent Kirsty, hovering to give assistance, which turned out to be just what we needed. She even suggested that they might not have the optimum ticket and investigated the possibilities of a better arrangement, although, being a Sunday journey, it wasn't actually possible to improve matters. But they now even have print-out of the intended journey, and back-up journeys, if the two rather tight changes fall through
Spot on.
Recently moved house. We sold our property with Dourish and Day. Happy with the service, really did their homework with the valuation. We sold the property for just over the asking price in the end. We had 3 valuations and they valued the property the same as Butters John Bee did. Nicholsons valued it at £20k less!
Dourish and Day were the most expensive but only slightly more than Butters John Bee. Nicholsons were the cheapest and when valuing their homework consisted of a comparison to one property they had sold last year! They valued ours slightly less that this property which was a similar layout but ours has an extension at the back.
We used Cheethams ( Louise Cheetham) as our solicitor and they were really good and but also the cheapest of all the quotes we had. I would highly recommend them. We did have some hold ups but this was generally due to our buyer's solicitor.
Great!
So, in conclusion
Stop the messing around?
Better think of the future
And then send a letter to you, rudie111?
He can't have been asked that very often...Come again?
Mega cuffy to the new management at The Spittal Brook. Attended the afters of a christening there yesterday which I’m sure the family had paid handsomely for and every table except one small four-seater by the back door was marked with signs saying “Reserved - non-christening”. Welcoming This resulted in two problems - one was that everyone had to gather outside the kitchen door, earning the glares of the (I think) landlady who was still trying to put food out. The second was that there was only one place for a lot of people to place their drinks and we didn’t appreciate being told off like children for not using beer mats when the problem was not one of our creation. Really, really poor customer service and we won’t be back oh, and lots of dog mess in the garden too, fantastic for kids who very clearly were not welcome inside!
