I can just imagine an RAF Pilot at 30,000ft suddenly deciding to stick his head out of the window.....

I never miss the Hunter when ever I go there, same with the Gloster Javelin near to it as well.

Cheers for the heads up with the cockpit accessibility, great for reference pics :)

I have a load of a Canberra from over at the small air museum at East mids Airport.
Having received an request from my brother for some RAF and RN aircraft from the 1950s and 60s, I returned from IPMS with 1/72 models of a Hawker Hunter, a DH Vampire, a Gloster Meteor and a Seahawk. And I got Series 1 Airfix models of the Golden Hind and the Revenge for myself.

A strangely 'likeable' plane - despite one crashing into a building where I should have been and another dropping a bomb (accidentally) two hundred yards away.

Many many years ago as a cadet on an ATC camp I had an hours flight in a Canberra. A dual control one.

Quite fun.

All the best

Nah, not me. No bomb aimers position.

Not sure when the RAF last had Canberras equipped for bombing. The one I was in was used for conversion training, with the main aircraft used for photo reconnaissance and checking station navigation equipment

I must dig out my old ATC log book and check for the serial number of the Canberra.

I was tempted to visit Telford for the IPMS show, but at £12 on the door??? a tad steep? Plus I couldn't be trusted to keep my wallet shut....

2 kits I am keeping any eye for are the Buck Rodgers Star fighter and the Marauder ships...I found them at a model show in Crewe a few years back bt the guy wanted £100 each for them....

If you are looking for slightly obscure model kits, either as models from various TV shows and movies as well as some conceptual kits, its worth checking our Fantastic Plastic.

The Barry Potter Toy and Train Fairs at the Showground are getting a few more plastic kits there now, mostly old stock.
