Stafford has been lacking a good pub quiz for ages...Sofa used to run them every month or so at The Lamb, but I can't think of many places I'd rather avoid than there nowadays since it's reopened.

As of Sunday 28th September The Railway Inn on Castletown will be hosting a (hopefully) monthly quiz from around 8pm. There will be all the usual rounds such as music, arts & literature, current affairs, sports, general knowledge, history etc etc. It's not just going to be someone reading questions out of a crappy shop-bought quiz book, and there will also be some questions on local knowledge too. There will be 5/6 max per team, only a small entry fee, and the prize will most likely be the total of the money taken.

The Railway Inn is a small, traditional pub, with well-kept cask ales, a huge whisky collection, a log fire in the winter and a friendly atmosphere, so come along and have some end-of-weekend fun!

The other Sundays in the month are planned to become 'Wii Sundays', which should be great if not a little dangerous! Leagues in tennis, baseball, bowling, boxing and other stuff are planned, and this should be starting some time in October so I will post again when it's all confirmed.

:D:up:

I might just make the quiz. :)

I agree The Lamb is a little weak now it's reopened, especially when they have a performer in there. Hopefully things will settle as time goes on.

Pity the Rose & Crown is all karaoke and noise nowadays too. I wonder what happened to Elaine? It was a nice pub when she had it.

Don't forget peeps....quiz starts at 8pm if you're intending to come along. It's £1 per person, max 5 per team.

Gnnn - I forgot. How did it go?
It was really good, except that the speakers i'd lent Ms Quizmeister to use with her laptop wouldn't work so she had to shout the questions out and now has a sore throat! We didn't win, unfortunately, but had a jolly good time nevertheless!

Ms Quizmeister thought it was all good, and went well, so hopefully on the 26th October, at 8pm (ish) the audio problem shall be sorted, the throat will be better, and everyone can the snizzle the quizzle

Anyone know if Wii Sunday is on tonight?
Sorry Wookie I missed this one. They have started doing Wii Sundays but I've not been yet so don't know whether they've set up leagues or whatever or if they just have it on for people to play...
