We have the smallest bathroom in the world.

We need a new one.

With a sink/toilet vanity unit.

And a shower (over the bath, must be electric & not run off our boiler).

And a extractor fan.

And possibly the walls re-plastering.

Definatly tiling + plumbing.

And all that shiz.

Anyone recommend a bathroom supplier (Plumbits were great with advice today, but maybe out of our price range).

Or fitter.

Or anything?

Help.

Go for splash panels, only a bit dearer than tiles but you save on labour time plus no grouting to do and no grouting to subsequently keep clean.
We did two walls in the family bathroom last year with MDF ones and are doing the bit of the en suite where the shower goes with acrylic ones befor Christmas.

Ahhhh, we have some of those panels, but have a damp problem behind them :( so looking to get rid & tile (plus add the extractor) . Thanks for the advice though. x

We've had a right game with fitters and being let down constantly, we also had someone quote us £6000 for nothing overly special, bath, sink and loo, no shower and not a huge amount of tiling, everything going back in the same place so no major works.

In the end we decided to have a go ourselves, hubby has done a fab job but it's taken a while, being a first attempt, we've had a few set backs, first bath we ordered was rubbish, a roll top with feet that didn't fit. Luckily we have a downstairs wet room so it's not been to disruptive.

Almost finished now, just a bit of paint touching up and the radiator back on!

We ended up getting the suite from better bathrooms, fab showroom in Manchester and you can collect straight away from the trade counter (20 minutes away but only 10 mins out the way heading home). It all came in at under £600 and we've probably spent another £600 on tiles, radiator and fittings etc.

And we no longer have a magnolia bathroom suite!

A humidity-controlled extractor might be worth considering - I put one in in a bathroom that was like the Borneo jungle and in danger of just rotting away.
Really? Looked at them in b & q Today & hey didnt have the power of the ones in Plumbits.. our bathroom is like a rainforest, even without a shower or extractor

Yes - I got one from Screwfix - it would be about ten/twelve years ago - without it, the bathroom would have been in the kitchen years ago.

Yes and yes, but I need to go away and find his info..

Yes, I've remembered, Martin Locke. A more honest man you couldn't find. Turned my bathroom from a 1960s hellhole in to one fit for the 21st century. Did all plumbing, tiling etc. Absolutely awesome price too. He/I got the stuff from Wolseley plumbers place up by the tip. He even returned once my vinyl floor was laid to finish off with that silicon stuff. Top job!

Perhaps look at a more powerful extractor fan Most shift about 65 sq m an hour we're looking at a Manrose MFT 100 which shifts a quoted 245 sq m an hour. About £45.

About to have ours done by AR Plumbing and Gas. Ask me in a week or two and I’ll let you know!

As for extractor fans, if you can’t find one with a humidistat built in that’s any good I’m pretty sure somewhere will sell in-like humidity sensors that you can wire in to the live of the fan to give it humidistat capabilities.

Highly recommend the loft fans, you just have a vent in the bathroom (above your shower for instance) and the actual hardware mounted in the loft with a flexible duct running to it then out of the side of the house.
