Yes 2 sets of 3 way lights within 100m of each other not very well synced long queues on approach best avoiding if possible.

As others have said the farce at Beaconside is best avoided - causing tailbacks down A34 southbound heading into Stafford, leaving M6 at J14 Stafford (both directions but especially southbound), A34 sliproad (east to Redhill island) and of course Beaconside in both directions of course - oh and all the way to Great Bridgeford too ! Image below was at 9am - was worse at 8am.

In my last fortnight in the Republic, I was stopped by three sets of traffic lights and had about thirty seconds put on by some roadworks.

That's after I got out of Dublin, of course, and not counting the amber traffic light followed by the blue lights, which added about five seconds - and a great sense of relief...

I must admit that the roads in Ireland have been well maintained and only a few roadworks en route. Only seen a couple of minor potholes in over 400 miles even on the lesser roads.

I especially like the N roads with the yellow striped wideway on either side.

Most drivers have been really considerate particularly when being stuck behind me on twisty bends.

No one seems to be in a hurry here, so I now feel fully prepared for the slow moving traffic around Stafford now :)

Every morning, I sit in the A34 Southbound queue at the Redhill roundabout, queueing forever whilst drivers going round the roundabout into the A513 revel in blocking the A34 Southbound traffic going straight on. It is thoroughly depressing. This situation has been going on for years and years as ppl queue down the A513. It was especially bad this morning. Add to this the current A34 roadworks in Stone causing massive delays and I do not know why I bother coming to Stafford and put myself through this every morning.

Surely something can be sorted out to prevent these queues every day??

If you think Beaconside is bad now, imagine how it will be when all those houses go up at Sandon Rd and Marston Lane. And while we're on the subject, Marston lane was a clay quagmire when it rained, and that's supposed to be a cycle route.
