There was some activity (well the lights were on inside and there were two 'workmen' standing outside) the old / new New Look place earlier on tonight.

Drove down Grey Friars/Foregate earlier today and it was uplifting to see a couple of recent eye sores now being smartened up. The old KFC - new car parts place now has a roller shutter and the insides being fitted, while Abdul's curry house is now having the frontage fitted.

More flats opposite the SGI

I'm glad work has started on the old office block , better than the derelict building it is now.

Unfortunately all work on the old KFC seems to have stopped months ago.

The unit has been split into at least two units , maybe three. The one on the high street is roughly about a third of the old unit size, they must be using the fire exits as entrances for the rest.

It was always an odd shape for one shop - that would make sense

I saw a sign on the floor of the shop as I went past earlier I think it is going to be an Edinburgh wool mill style shop

I've had various conversations in locals, just lately, as well as being copied in on some useful emails. I believe the old New Look shop will be The Mill, selling woollen goods and the rest of that block has been taken up so could be developed/re-opened. The upstairs of Pastiche has been taken on by a local business to be put back into use. The Apothecary and Tavern will be back in use as a music venue and bar, and Tavern being a restaurant. The old Dotty P's/Top Man, is under consideration for a new pub and M&S is back on the market so maybe an uplift in fortunes at that end could sway a new buyer.
