That vegan thread.

Not the best way to get the vegan message across. Encouraging the exclusion of people that don't currently share your opinions will only lead to a closed shop thread of like minded persons tut tutting among themselves and preaching to the already converted.

You can't come in the vegan thread and then complain about vegans talking about being vegan and sharing their feeling passionately. Animal cruelty is something we feel very strongly about, hence the forceful views. If one is in the vegan thread, expect some vegan views and opinions, that's not forcing anything. Forcing opinions is raising it inappropriately in other threads. No one is doing that

kyoto49's got a point @Trumpet

I've cut down massively on posting in other threads for the exact reason k points out.

The points people are trying to make can get lost in particular threads because people get all up tight and forget the original message of the thread. It happens quite often on social media and when people are posting in particular threads complaining about people posting in regards the message of the thread, well they've got a title for those nonentities; trolls. The don't forget about me brigade.
It's exhausting for people talking about the original message of interest to explain to those people, to go some other place and that's then when the arguments begin and vendettas or the feuds start and it takes a while to get back on track. Take a small look back through this thread for a prime example.
Like now, i'm exhausted.

It reminds me of the guitar lessons bit in Ricky Gervais' Humanity.

Drove out to the lanes near Eccleshall today to take dog to the kennels. Dairy consumers, do you ever stop and think where all the cows go in the winter? Well I can answer this exact question as I saw the poor freezing miserable beasts. In winter dairy cows get to stand on shit and urine covered concrete outside their milking bit all day in all weathers. Most are lame and standing very painfully. One can only imagine their pain. Would we make pregnant women stand up on concrete all day? They should at the very least have a deep straw bed and some inside space to wander. Standing out in the freezing, sloshing through shit for months is probably not the image the farmers and dairy industry want you to have!

Drive to sugnell and take a right on the bad bend if you wish to see for yourselves.....or any other dairy incarceration unit.

Not nice, not nice at all.

Curious k, what do you feed your dog, i had the same dilemma when it came to what to feed my cat.
There was a discussion included on this thread quite a few posts back and it got a tad heated, how do you feel about it?

Sadly I have to feed him meat. I just don't see how dogs can healthily be vegan YET. I think dog food manufacturers are investing heavily in finding a decent vegan diet but to my sadness I don't think they are their yet. :(. Unless anyone knows differently?

Incorrect. Cat's are obligate carnivores, and require meat.

Dog's are not, and there are plenty of vegan options around.
One of the more common that I know a few very happy dogs eat is V-Dogg. Several options are available on Veggiepets

If you don't want people to be giving there opinion on veganism or on those who choose to carry on forcing their abuse on animals then do feel free to feck off out of the VEGAN thread!!

It’s not that I have an issue with people giving an opinion on being vegan. Or any opinion.
People should be free to do/eat whatever they wish without being guilt tripped.

Feeling passionate about something is one thing. Being aggressive towards those who disagree is another.

I find @kyoto49 approach to be bullying, forceful, intimidating and off putting.

If He/she wants to educate people about veganism then perhaps not calling them “hypocrites” might be a good place to start.

And telling people who disagree with him/her, whether it’s this thread, or any other thread to “feck off” isn’t the best way to go either.

It is, isn’t it, a discussion forum?

According to the Cannock edition of the freebie Chronicle Week, the Lichfield Brewhouse & Kitchen has veganised* all of its own beers, following 6 months of experimentation. All of their own beers are suitable for vegan & vegetarian diets. Presumably this applies to their other pubs. HOWEVER this relies on a small article in a freebie news-sheet and I can find nothing on their website or facebook page so I would check with them first

Great change.

I've seen Yarrah vegan dog food somewhere in one of those garden centre/hardware centre.

It may have been Mere Park at Newport or Charlie's in Shrewsbury.

No idea what's in it though.

Didn't realise the Wolseley did vegan. Haven't been there for a few years, OK is it?
