It's safe to say this tragic event has resonated with us all. As parents, as neighbours, as members of the community, and even simply as human beings.
We can't ever begin to imagine what this family will have to go through in the coming months, years, and often it's hard to know what to do to help because so many bases have already been covered by the team of people who have been working relentlessly to collate and organise the donations.
Our centre has been overwhelmed not just by items coming through the door but by emotion, it's been difficult to even look at the amount of good that's being done without shedding a tear.
Our heartfelt thanks go to all who have donated so far, through financial, logistical and material means, and who have given their time to help a family who in many cases, they don't even know. We'll make sure all the goodwill messages and notes get to the right place in due course.
We do have a little room left for items, but we're still asking that people liaise with the facebook help group before dropping items into us so that we don't have too many duplicates.
A great deal of thanks also goes to those who wanted to chip in who we've had to turn away, either because their items were duplicate, or because we're over-run by volunteers already.
