Actually they say "residents only apart from speeding boy racers, rich people who don't think things like this apply to them, business men, white can men, people in 4 x 4's, audi's BMW's, men generally tbf, and oblivious blind pensioners" judging by the huge volume of traffic still flying up and down at speeds up to mach 9.

In all seriousness my neighbour is too scared to park outside her own house and get her young son out and is parking at her friends in another road and carrying her son home. All due to the selfish actions of other (<) humans :(
I didn't realise there where any residents only streets around there

Weston Road round to Wolverhampton Road is an absolute mess right now. I’ve never seen so many HGVs

I ventured out to pick up some dog food.
Got to admit its a lot easier to get around on foot , i certainly wouldnt bother with all the hassle of taking the car at the minute just for a mile walk at best.

Gardening day today. Got as far as top of Weston Bank at 9-30 this morning before sitting in traffic, heard the traffic reports about motorway etc & thought "f*ck it", turned round in lay by & went home. Seems like I made a sensible decision & didnt contribute to the chaos.

Son goes to Newcastle college and gets the bus from Yarlet. He went out at his usual 7.55am and was still waiting when I was going to work at 9am. He said only 1 bus had gone by in that time but it was out of service.
Being the great mum I am, I decided to give him a lift. As already mentioned on here somewhere, the traffic going South on the A34 was queuing back to Filleybrooks Island at Stone but as I was going North I had him at college in 20 mins.
Coming back was okay until I reached Stone again where I had to queue from just before Filleybrooks to the next island by Stone Business Park where I went left through Burston/Sandon to get to work. I got there (Hixon) at 10.20 ish
It made me think how lucky I am that my normal commute is 15 minutes each way.

Had an enlightened chat with the councillor for my area today. Apparently there hasn't been enough deaths on the Eccleshall Road for it to have an actual speed camera. I mean, wtaf, who decides this sort of stuff :(. So, if a few more people could die there because of speed we'd all be very grateful and we'd get a speed camera then! Jeesus! And there was me thinking road safety measures were all about saving lives enabling people's deaths and then installing measures to safeguard them. What a country we live in :(

I have a friend that lives in the same street, I sometimes give her a lift home - which on normal days is a perilous trip down the street where cars are parked on both sides of the road barely allowing my small car down there and one way traffic only on what should be a two way street, combined with the high speed bumps, and reckless parking only an idiot would use it as a cut through.

Last night I believe it was jammed with lorries at 4am & the noise was bad enough to wake her kiddies & keep them awake. Just what you want before a 9hr shift with a 7am start.

Went around the McDonald's/Lloyd's(?) roundabout this morning at about 10am and not a single person or machine was working on the roundabout despite it all being coned off.

Some kind of karmaic wonderment just, as I left the house and found all those ignorant tw*ts who ignored the 'residents only' sign at both ends of MY road

I don't think Black text on a yellow background are legally enforceable they are just providing information to Road users so the people using this route are doing so legally. Although I can understand that it may be annoying to yourself there doing nothing wrong
