That vegan thread.

Enjoying a drop of red.
I AM CURSED!

I don't eat out very often but EVERY time I do I get served meat accidentally!

Went out at the weekend and ordered the natchos (extra salsa - extra jalapenos) Whats that? topping of beans as an optional extra? Pile them on!

Half way through natchos I realised that there were also chunks of sausage amongst my tasty beans...

A few weeks ago I went to the Seven Stars and got a prize hunk of chicken with my chips...

And before that a vegetarian bolognese that was certainly not vegetarian...

How do you react?

I don't want to be the pain at the table that makes an enormous fuss but it is soooo annoying, disgusting and totally unnecessary!

Huff :(
If that was me I'd go absolutely ballistic. You order vegan (or veggie) and that's exactly what you should get. I'd complain to the establishments via social media (whatever that is). At the very, very least they should offer you a meal on the house in order to prove to you they aren't idiots.

Depends on the setting, but I certainly wouldn't let it ruin my day or upset myself over it.

I WOULD however, complain verbally, and depending how I feel mention allergies to put the shit up them if I don't think they are taking it seriously.

I was going to suggest "falling to the ground in a comatose state" whilst hubby explains your "potentially fatal meat allergy" to them..

Happened to me too on a couple of occasions and i've never lost my shizzle over it, simply pointed it out with a huge frown on my mug and then never gone back.
Still does happen, a few places are black listed, more fool them.

I try to put myself in their position, i never knew how to spell veegunn a few years ago let alone know what it meant and that's no excuse i know. because some places can get into some serious troubles, but you've those setting out the menu, those taking the order, those cooking the meal, those dishing up and those serving it, mistakes can happen, if it was done accidentally then fair play but done intentionally then i hope they stumble into the nearest abattoir dressed as a pig, cow, goat, chicken (whatever) and then, well, you can guess the rest (i hope!!).

Slate them on social media and then never go again, simple dimples.

I can't wait for UVC, Lichfield to open and then this kinda thing can and will never happen, when eating out at places dedicated to the vegan wave.

I ate at LEON in London today after a long unsuccessful hunt for vegan food that wasn't falafel or bean wrap around Euston station. IT'S ACE!

We had black bean and rice box and Love vegan burger...plus the most amazing vegan jaffa cake er cake! And oat milk for a fine cup of tea.

Upstairs at Euston station, best ever vegan fast food!

I had a vegan pizza at Pizza Express last night. I've never had vegan cheese before and was a little underwhelmed, it tasted quite watery, and it felt like there was something missing from the pizza.

That's a shame and that's happened to me a number of times, but then you're safe in the knowledge you haven't added to the imprisonment, systematic cruelty and barbaric practices of the diary industry.

Always chance to try another pizza.

I'm crying out for a Mr Singh's in Stafford, Lucy if you wanna taste a top notch blow ya socks off pizza then you have to visit this place, lots of vegan options and inexpensive. Ummm ummmmmmm!

I'm not going to go vegan in the near future but I'm trying to eat less. I hate milk so that always helps. I got some vegan burgers from Aldi the other day, beetroot and sweet potato and chickpea. They also had the meat-like ones, but I want to try something that tastes different too.

What's stopping you going vegan, any particular product?
Do you need to lose much weight?
