It's fair to say the cameras had the desired effect...

I'm hanging onto my B&Q receipt from Saturday then, just in case it's needed for proof that I actually did shop there. Only went there and drove back home this time. But normally shop at that retail park and then sling the shopping into the boot and leave the car there while I'm nipping into town for a few bits and bobs .

Any idea what happens if you park there once that day, and then return later that day to visit shops in the retail park again? Can't see anything on the signs saying no return within a certain period of time... (Quite often driven back down for other purchases from Argos, or to get more decorating stuff from B&Q on the same day)

I think they are looking for any stay over 2hrs, so multiple entries won't be an issue as they would of said otherwise...

Loads of cars on the Hough carpark this afternoon and not that many in the shops again. More parked down towards the B&Q end at the time I walked down there. People probably not looking for the new signs as they drive in.

A new long stay car park is set to bring more than 100 extra spaces to a town centre.

Stafford Borough Council has bought land at Fairway to provide more parking for town workers. And an existing car park at Riverway, next to the bowling green and Stafford Town Football Club, will provide a further 73 long stay spaces.

This month the borough council's cabinet approved an off-street parking order for the two car parks.

A report to the cabinet said: "Some improvement works (were) undertaken on half of the (Fairway) site to the surface, lining and lighting of the site to enable it to be used for car parking. The other half of the site for the time being is used by the Stafford Radio Controlled Model Car Club.

"The half of the site which will be used for car parking and covered by the proposed Order contains 102 spaces which would be charged on a long stay permit basis at £30 per month per space.

"The order sets out the terms of operation and enforcement which will be put in place to manage these car parks for permit holder parking only between the hours of 6.30am and 7.30pm. The order will also provide restrictions for vehicles parking on the link road between the two car parks and the powers of enforcement."
But there was one objection to the order in relation to the Riverway car park during a consultation period last year however.
Paul Beedell, acting chairman of Stafford Town Football Club, highlighted an existing tenancy agreement between Stafford Borough Council and Stafford Town Football Foundation.
The report said: "The agreement covenants the Borough Council to maintain the access road and the car park and to only allow users of the adjacent bowling greens in addition to the Stafford Town Football Foundation to use the car park.
"However the agreement does also provide for 'the right to use the Car Park is also granted to the users of the bowling green and the Landlord', which enables broader usage as permitted by the council, including the current use for staff parking.
"Mr Beedell advises that the car park is used during the day by the bowling community and for the football club which could occur in the hours stated that a permit is required. He believes that the proposed permit regime is therefore overly restrictive for these users.
"The order however does also allow for non-permit holders to be able to use the car park, Monday to Friday, for up to four hours free of charge with no return within two hours, and no restrictions on Saturday or Sunday which would serve the purposes of the bowling green and football club users."

Speaking at this month's cabinet meeting, Councillor Frances Beatty, cabinet member for economic development and planning, said: "It is a good news story. We have purchased the site to create this long stay car park, which will be extremely useful to take the increasing numbers of people coming to work in the town.

"We have also dealt with some queries over existing tenancy agreements very satisfactorily."

Councillor Mike Smith, cabinet member for leisure, said: "I note that there was one objection regarding Stafford Town Football Club. I feel it has been satisfactorily resolved."

I typed parking into the search and this one seemed the right place so.

I noticed a car straddling car parking bay lines, so much so that you'd think twice about parking next to it and with that thought what a selfish Grade A zuckwit. Later that day, coming back to my car i happened to speak to a car park attendant checking cars for tickets and i asked him whether he was going to give that dumb horse zhit a ticket (pointing out the turd's car and their twatty parking) and he said no, and i replied but the deadbeat's out of their bay! Which he replied i can't give them a ticket, they have to be 50% over the bay next to them.
I nearly fell over.
So, is this right, i can park in two bays essentially, knowing i won't get a parking fine, as long as i have a valid pay and display parking ticket?

No because if you are parking in 2 bays you'll be at least 50% over in one of them lol
That's right, 51% in the bay i've paid a ticket for. And i won't get a fine for the 49% bay i haven't paid for?
So you can never be 50% over the bay next to you because, at that theoretical point, the higher occupancy bay will become the one you paid for and the white line, itself, rules out having 50% exactly in each bay.

This is the thing, it sounded logical when he told me. On most car parks you don't pay for a particular bay, you find a space and then pay for a ticket. So going by this guys philosophy, i pay for two bays as standard, just depends which 49% i'll stick my car in?!

Example;
Below, the car has parked in the right hand side space, but is 49% over the left hand space. Going by what the parking attendant said to me, they could not fine this dipshit. But is also doing nothing wrong, kinda, sorta. Though the parking attendant could decide dumb dumb has parked in the left hand side space so therefore over 50% in the right hand side bay and give them a fine, erm, so, right, erm, my head's frazzled.

Ramshaw Drive by the looks of it the last few days! Residents will be chuffed.
Not quite how we'd put it....
Usual mix of council staff (some with council parking permits), staff from the Smile dentists and other flogs...
Now when is the next transporter leaving GE.....
