What are we watching on TV?

Somebody on a Facebook Ian M. Banks SciFi Group recommended a TV series called 'The Expanse.' I have an Amazon Firestick and found all three series on there so decided to give it a whirl. It isn't Ian M. Banks .. but ..
WOW !!
I'm now halfway through the third and last series, I have to say, it is very impressive. :)

Line of Duty, BBC1 9pm tonight (Sunday)

Another absolutely brilliant episode.
The brilliant Jed Mercurio (from Cannock) has done it again and got us all guessing.
11 million viewers guessing.

If there's to be a better show than Fleabag in the next decade I'd be surprised.

I’ve not seen this, but I’m a fan of Jack and Harry Williams (producers) and also Phoebe Waller Bridge, so how has this passed by my radar?

Start the first series this morning, give it a chance and you'll have binge watched it all by tea time.

I see they've made a follow up series to Killing Eve which is currently being shown in the USA. I'm told Phoebe Waller-Bridge isn't involved which seems like a step back, although it's receiving good reviews. It's reported the BEEB have commissioned a third series.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge really is a bit of a phenomena ... and some of her quotes are truly magical. If you read this small biography she seems just as mad as a box of frogs as she is in Fleabag.

After the first series I read all the books. They've gone past the last book now but I understand they got the author George RR Martin to approve of the final direction with series 8. With regard to the cast it's a bit like the characters in the Harry Potter films. Starting as kids you watch them grow up .. (usually ending up as serious badass types .. :heyhey:. )

I think with Game of Thrones you'll either like it or hate it. It is pure fantasy in the style of Tolkien but it's certainly not for kids (although I suspect a lot of kids love it.) It's extremely violent, no holds barred with respect to sex of any kind, humongously politically incorrect but … the characters are great. (My advice, don't get too attached to any particular character, George RR Martin likes to kill them off on a regular basis.)
It's just pure story telling on a grand scale with scant regard for convention. A sort of medieval comic strip with blood and gore thrown in for a laugh (as well as magic, mysticism, evil and dragons.)
Don't think I've put any spoilers in with this. The cast is brilliant, and you'll see many familiar faces popping in and out in the course of each season. ;)
