Its Amazon prime day :)

( actually a day and a half ;) )

Time to grab that bargain if you have something in your amazon basket that qualifies.

Ive just bagged a saving of £138 for An Hive active heating kit for the combi boiler including installation from a british gas installer.

...anyone else grabbed a deal from there today ?

I've caved and bought and Echo and a Dot for £50 less than it was yesterday.

Already got 2 echo's and a dot ( 1 echo in bedroom and the other in the living room ... wifey stole the kitchen dot for her summerhouse)

Fantastic kit of kit , wouldnt be without them now

be warned though , once you start with the home automation apps you will be constantly buying add on kit :P

wanna see my snake?
How much better is the proper echo than the dot? I have a dot but can get the normal one and a smart plug socket for £44....

@tek-monkey
audio quality is much much better mate , makes the dot sound like a £2 radio off the market.
Also as you would expect very much louder too.

if just using it to control apps then stick with the dot but for music as well its a no brainer.

95% of my shopping is delivered in an amazon truck lol.
trust me, if they tried it on with me i'd know about it .

...although , i needed to return something a few weeks back and the collection was supposed to be made by hermes.
to cut a long story short , after informing them of my rights i managed to return by using TNT and charging the cost to amazon , i went with the most expensive i could find £37 for a small parcel.

next time they will collect when they say they will :P

I have still never seen my Hermes driver, although "I have signed for" several deliveries and have been in every time he has called*.

* I say 'called', but he has managed to do it silently and totally unobserved every time so far.

Hermes are trying again to collect a parcel from me on Friday after they failed to show up last week. What do we think the chances are of them actually turning up in the 12 hour window they make you stay in for....?

i had 4 no shows in the space of 2 weeks.
They are great at getting your parcels to you , however for returns , they just never show up.

if you have the option of using a drop off store , use that and make sure you keep the receipt .

The stupid thing is, the seller used Yodel to ship the replacement item to me who I've not had issue with. Hermes on the other hand I've found to be completely useless on numerous occasions

Given a choice of couriers I'd always opt for DPD. They give you an hour slot, you can track the driver via the app and see what delivery you are in the queue, text updates when they are 30 mins away etc, just a far better service

Seems to be standard With Hermes. Mine tried to just push my parcel through the letterbox yesterday, despite it being far too big.

Better than Yodel though. They often just dump them on the doorstep, fully visible from the street.
